3rd POV

The wind blew on the leaves of the treehouse. The blue sky was beautiful with the clouds  slowly moving. Birds chirped as they landed on the branches and the sound of the ocean was loud as always. Katelyn laid on the bed, her hands were hanging over the sides while she stared into the sky. It has been an hour since Zoey had explained to everyone their situation. Katelyn and the red masked man were the only ones in the tree house, they didn't have much to look around, so they stayed put while everyone else explored what the future held.

She took a deep breath, noting a difference in the air's smell. She was still in shock at how everything changed in 15 years. Thoughts on the Jury of Nine, Okasis, and Abby crossed her mind; making her wonder what had changed or happened to them.  She listened to the birds, and different chirps came from different places. They sang beautiful tunes that she has not heard of before while they came and left. She then heard soft voices closing in, so she lifted her head gently and slowly sat up, waiting.

Aphmau and Laurance came up, Zoey followed behind while they all spoke. She smiled softly while she looked at Laurance and giggled when Zoey mentioned something Katelyn couldn't hear.

“Oh Katelyn. There you are! I thought you went to explore the village.” Aphmau said, noticing her.

“I don't hold any memories here so I didn't bother to look around.” Katelyn responded, she stood up as she spoke.

Aphmau kept her smile and she approached Katelyn, getting pretty close to her before grabbing her hand.

“Then let's change that! I'll show you around.” Aphmau said, enthusiasm in her voice.

Katelyn smiled lightly as she got dragged into the direction of the stairs. Laurance said he would accompany them but Aphmau refused immediately. Confusing Katelyn in the process.

They began walking down the stairs but once they were at a far distance, Katelyn asked her question.

“Why didn't you want Laurance to come?”

“Well.. I haven't really gotten to know you on a personal level, so I wanted to be alone with you so we can talk as I show you around.”

Katelyn made an “oh” sound, making Aphmau chuckle. They reached the small camp that they were settled in. It was extremely comfortable for its size, and Aphmau seems to know the people here very well. She remembers how one of the guards looked at her, seeming so happy to see her. It's a look that she never thought a person could make, it made Katelyn want to have someone look at her in that form too. A look of happiness and overjoyce; a look that screamed gratefulness and friendly love.

“So Katelyn, do you have anything you're looking forward to see?” Aphmau asked as they walked through the gates, exiting the camp site.

“Well, I guess my family or the jury of nine. if we were gone for 15 years and this happened, I wonder what happened with the things that Zane led.” She responded, looking at the sky for a moment.

“You're from Okasis? I thought you only worked there.” She asked, tilting her head.

“My hometown is Okasis. I never really left it until I began working under Zane.” Katelyn explained.

“Ah I see, what do you plan to do now?” Aphmau asked.

Katelyn thought about it long and hard. She made a vow on protecting Aphmau, but she does want to go back and find her family and Abby. They walked towards Aphmau's old house, where the connection of the trails was made.
