"Jung Hoseok!" Namjoon barks, his thoughts churned with malice and vengeance. He turns his head in time the head knight leaps to his side, his breaths erratic and daunted. Hoseok's steps are unmeasured and haste while attempting to follow by the king's heels, although practically he is running behind Namjoon to keep up with the steps. "Give me the fucking name of the maid who served him lunch!" Sensibly, Namjoon knows he isn't following the right protocol when handling a situation like this. But anger has got the rein, and right now, it directs him towards the kitchen quarters. The cape billows behind his back as he marches along the corridors and hallways, carrying the beacon of a dark energy within his own palace. He doesn't give much care to the whispers and mutters of the castle's staff when they glimpse him, and since no one has been notified about the calamity, the ones who encounter him are as baffled as men lost within thickets.
"Sire, the kitchen did announce that they delayed the lunch upon the prince's orders. A maid named Celivia brought the meals, my lord." Hoseok proclaims, slightly out of breath. Within seconds he had dashed towards the kitchens, frightening the chefs and the maids as well and demanded the name of the server since he knew the question will soon be asked by the king. "She was not present in the kitchen by the time I went there. Yet they confessed she was seen departing to her room once she returned from the prince's suite. Perhaps, she might still be within her room, sire. Would you want me to arrest her?"
A growl resonates in the back of the king's throat, his darkened eyes narrowing at apparently nothing. "No." He grits, changing the direction towards the servants' quarters. "I'd like to confront her myself. She will have to explain herself better to convince me not to slit her throat the fucking minute I see her." Hoseok glances at the kingly profile and purses his lips together, nodding.
The rest of the guards positioned in the hallways salute as the king passes by, and exchange mystified glances with each other after witnessing the tightened scowl and enraged gestures. Even the Head knight marching beside the king doesn't offer them a convincing stare. Soon the line of guards declines as they reach the servants' isle.
It is not frequent to see the Royals step into this wing of the castle, and there are slaves who have never glimpsed their ruler in their entire lives. Such cower in fright as he strides past them, some stagger back and throw themselves to the ground at Namjoon's feet while some dash back to their own rooms, muffling gasps of surprise and shrieks of fright. Since they have walked into the women's section of the quarters, despite the spontaneous encounters of some man tripping out of the rooms-half-clothed-no armed knight is around.
As soon as the room of the said maid is met, Hoseok quickens his step ahead of his lordship and stops by the closed doors. It is forbidden to keep the doors of their rooms closed within daytime hours, and the maids-who work as kitchen staff-are not visibly seen around their lodgings during the day and often they are permitted to return to their rooms after serving the last meal of the night to the royals.
