As they all sat in the car, the tension was palpable. YN's mind raced, trying to stay focused on the task ahead, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Jungkook—back to their school days, the constant arguments, the intense rivalry. Every threat he had made in those hallways, every dark word that had once seemed like empty bluster, now felt like a prophecy coming true. She clenched her fists, trying to push the memories aside and focus on the case.
YN explained everything to Jess, Jimin, J-Hope, and Suga, outlining the mansion, Jungkook's connection to his mother, and how the pieces were beginning to fit together.
SUGA : "I think we should call the police team to come with us to the mansion," (Suga suggested, his voice calm but firm.)
Jess nodded in agreement.
JESS : "Yeah, he's right, YN. Jungkook is dangerous and unpredictable. We can't go in there alone."
YN was about to respond when Jimin suddenly interrupted, his voice louder than usual.
JIMIN : "NO! No way we're calling the police!"
The car fell silent as everyone turned to look at Jimin, surprised by his outburst. He glanced nervously between them, his fingers fidgeting as he tried to explain.
JIMIN : "I mean... what if we call the police and Jungkook gets tipped off? He could run away before we even get there. If we want to catch him, we should go in quietly—just us."
RM considered Jimin's words, then nodded slowly.
RM : "He's got a point. We don't know who we can trust in the police force. What if some officers are involved with him? We can't take that risk."
YN hesitated but knew they had a valid point. The stakes were too high, and Jungkook had always been cunning. If he knew they were coming, he'd disappear like a shadow in the night.
YN : "Alright," (she said, her voice steady but her mind swirling with emotions.) "I agree. We'll go alone."
As the car sped down the road toward the mansion, YN looked out the window, the trees blurring by. Her mind kept circling back to Jungkook, to the boy she once knew—the boy who had hated her with a passion that ran deep. The boy who had threatened her, time and time again, with words she had dismissed as empty anger. But now, everything felt different. Those threats weren't just words anymore; they were becoming reality, one chilling piece at a time. She couldn't shake the feeling that this was more than just a case for her. It was personal. The memories of their fights, his cold gaze, and the venom in his words filled her mind. Had she missed something back then? Had there been signs of the darkness that would one day lead them to this point?
She glanced at the others, their faces tense with anticipation. They had no idea how deep her connection to Jungkook went. She had kept that part of her past buried for so long, but now it felt like the weight of those memories was pressing harder than ever. She tried to maintain her composure, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her jacket, but she couldn't shake the strange unease that clung to her. RM, who was driving, noticed her silence. His eyes flickered toward her for a moment before he spoke softly.
RM : "YN, don't worry... we'll get him."
His voice was calm and reassuring, as always, but it did little to ease the storm brewing in her chest. YN nodded, offering a tight smile.
YN : "Yeah... I know."
But the words felt hollow. Something was off, and she couldn't place it. It wasn't just the gravity of the case or the eerie return of Jungkook into her life. It was something deeper, a feeling she couldn't quite name. His threats echoed in her mind, clear as if they'd been spoken just yesterday. "If I had the chance, I'd wipe everyone off this planet... starting with you." At the time, she had dismissed it as empty words from an angry boy, but now, everything seemed to be aligning with a terrifying precision.
