the sea

The waves crash on the beach.

the salty smell stings my nose.

The water rolls on my toes.

I look at the glistening blue waves as kids splash in the ocean

their family watch from the beach.

As the waves go back I feel it pulling me in.

When the wave crashes on a rock it sprays me in the face.

The salty taste makes my lips dry.

The cold water makes me shiver.

The reflection of the sun on the water makes me squint my eyes.

I hear my name being called so I run back to my family.

as I look back at the sea I see it calling me.

maybe next time,

misery.
