Matthew walked up UA's hill with a bounce in his step, his good mood from the night before still lingering. Unable to take his mind off of a certain blue-haired (girl?)friend of his, he hadn't noticed someone calling his name from behind him until they tapped him on the shoulder.

"Good morning, Matthew!" Matthew turned to look over his shoulder, seeing that it was Shirogane who greeted him.

"Good morning, Shirogane. How're you doing?"

"Tired, but doing good nonetheless. My brothers are a real pain in the ass sometimes, y'know? Can't wake up if it were to save their lives."

"Ahaha, don't I know. How many brothers do you have?"

"4, all younger."

"Wow, I only have one younger brother and he was enough of a handful sometimes."

"Aww, you're an older brother?"

"...is that a bad thing?"

"No, no. It's just... you just struck me as a younger brother-type, is all. I guess I can't tease you as much now." Shirogane said with a fake pout, reaching her hand up and shaking Matthew's head. "If only Taihou was more like you, hang out with him more so you rub off on him or something." Matthew remained silent for a moment, recalling what he had talked about with Taihou the day prior. This could be a good time to gauge how Shirogane really felt about him, which would help his situation.

"Do you hate the guy that much?"

"N-no... I don't hate him, it's just..." Shirogane's face turned red ever so slightly. "I guess you could say I'm jealous."

"In what way? If you don't mind me asking.."

"About his whole attitude. He can afford to be so laidback about everything, from school to hero work. He's got an incredible quirk and clearly doesn't have to worry too much about his grades... and I've got a pretty useless quirk, my parents are super strict about my grades, and on top of it all I have to take care of my brothers because my parents are always away for work!" Shirogane's words quickly devolved into a tirade, her brow furrowed as she complained further. Matthew didn't want to worsen her already bad mood, but was unsure of whether to continue to engage the conversation or not. He got a good answer about how she felt about Taihou though, so he decided to pivot the conversation to hopefully leave Shirogane in a good mood.

"Erm... I'm sorry Shirogane, I didn't mean to pry-"

"No, it's fine. I started to rant... but to answer your questing more calmly; no, I don't hate Taihou. He pisses me off sometimes, but I don't hate him at all."

"...duly noted." The two continued in awkward silence, both unsure of how to continue the conversation. Another minute or so passed and Shirogane suddenly turned to face Matthew.

"Oh! I heard you went on a date last night, how was it?" Shirogane, like most of the other girls, was very involved Hado's love life, and thus his by association. "Hado seemed over the moon last night when she got home."

"A-ah... she told you guys?"

"Yep! I wanna hear your side too though! It's like a k-drama in real life, I love it!"

"That's..." Shirogane laughed, gently smacking him on the shoulder.

"I'm kidding! But still, how'd it go? Did you have a good time?" Matthew's face flushed red, recalling the night before.

"It was... nice. Really nice, especially for just getting dinner." A smile wormed its way onto his face before he could suppress it, Shirogane grinning smugly upon noticing it.
