I knew college was nothing like high school but I didn't expect that.
My last lecture ended at 2pm and it has now been 4 hours since I was at the library trying to understand a two hour lecture.

It has been the third time that I read the same sentence and I still didn't understand what it is about.
That is my cue to go.
When that happens I know I have been working for too long and that I'm not productive anymore.

I close my laptop and put my books in my bag when I see a notification popping on my phone.
It's a reminder from the schools’ mailbox that the game starts in an hour.
I make my way out of the library while wondering If i should go or not.
I think back to my conversation with Isaac and Saraï. It's true that I enjoyed watching basketball, but I really don't like crowded places and noises that make you hurt your head until it starts pounding.

I walked back home because the library is not far away and I see that dad is calling me,
“ Hey sweetheart, how are you doing ?” He asks me with his usually cheerful tone
“ I'm fine, I'm just coming home from the library and you?”
“ Well you know the usual, going back home hurting everywhere because of work with your mother constantly mad at everyone” and then I remember how it used to be back home.

How my mother would always find something to reproach us to be mad and go to bed while ruining everyone's evening.
“ it's going to be alright dad. And remember you can come whenever you want” he chuckles
“Yes I know honey. But whatever, I don't want to bother you with that. You managed to escape.” He chuckles and so do I, “ Do you have any plans for tonight?”
“ I..a..I dont know I'm still figuring out if I should go or not”
“ Well whatever it is if it's safe i think you should go” I stay silent while I climb the stairs until he talks again,
“ Well honey, have a nice evening and have fun. But mostly be safe.”
“I will dad. Love you”
“Love you honey” and he hangs up as I arrive at the same time on the seventh floor.
I open my front door and decide to get ready for the game.

I don't do a lot. I just put on a more warth jacket because the temperature started to decrease and put all the things I needed in my pocket: keys, pepper spray.
I mean I'm about to walk alone, in the street of Paris, at night. Like my father would say "better safe than sorry".

Once I put the localisation on my phone I see it's 20 minutes away by train so I go to the nearest subway station.

20 minutes later I'm walking along with other people towards the gym. I can already imagine how crowded it'll be.
I manage to take my place in the line and about a minute later I'm inside the court.

It's way bigger than what I thought and bigger than the usual places I used to watch basketball.
There are bleachers on each side of the court but the most magnificent part is the huge window bay that makes one of the walls and which gives us a beautiful sight of the lightning city.
