No, this girl couldn't be me.

I had never kissed a boy.

Well, almost never. Not like this. I had kissed Gordon ince, but it doesn't count, cause it was during a Truth or Dare game. He hadn't even throw away his gum for crying out loud!

"Oh miss Gwendolyn. Are you going to talk to me today or are you going to ignore me for one more time?" James said, when he saw me walking out of the empty classroom.

"What time is it?" I asked while looking around to find Leasley.

"Do i look like a clock to you?" James said, offended. I swear this kid has some serious damage in his brain.

I glanced at the clock at the end of the hallway.

"I was away only for 20 minutes..." I said.

"Where were you?"

"Oh James, I think I was at your house. Everything was so beautiful, really. And these canddles make the place look even better."

"Yes. It wasn't boring and ugly like this place." He said looking around. I felt sorry for him. He wasn't that older than me, and he had already died.

"James when were you born?"

"In 1762." He answered. "A month ago i turned 21 years old. My father bought me a beautiful horse... And then I got sick and stayed in bed for days with fever, only to wake up and find everything different, and meet a girl who claims that I'm a spirit!"

"I'm sorry," I said. "But I think you died from that fever."

"What?1 No! it was just a sickness." He said, but then he frowned. "Though, doctor Payne did say
I might had variola. (A/n: this actually exists, another name of it is 'smallpox' I found it on wikipedia, I think it kills you if you get it)

"Hmm.." I was going to search that on google.

"Oh here you are!!" Leasley came running from the restroom and tackled me in a bone crushing hug.
"I almost had a heart attack!"

"I'm okay, dont worry."

"Oh gosh I'm so glad you're fine! I told Mr. Wittman you are in the restroom vomiting your lunch out. He sent me to hold your hair up."

"Leasley, something weird happened back then... I can't explain it."

"I believe you." She told me, and threw my phone on my lap. "Here, I got it from your locker. Call your mom. Now."

"Leasley, she is at work.. I can't.."

"I don't care! You've already traveled in time three times! I saw it, you disappeared into thin air! It was creepy!! you need to tell your mother, before something bad happens to you, please."

i took my phone and sighed.

"Come on.." Leasley said.

I dialled her number and looked back at Leasley. She attempted to smile, to make me feel better.

"Gwendolyn?" my mom said through the phone. she sounded worried, i had never called her during school before. "Is everything okay?"

"Mom... no, nothing is okay."

"are you sick?"

"I... I don't know."

"you are probably ill. Go home and lay down and i'm going to leave earlir from workl today, okay?"

"Mom, I'm not ill. It's something worse, I.."

Leasley took my hand in hers "go on.. Tell her." she whispered.
