Klaus had a small smile on his face as he drove them back to the boarding house, finally glad that it was over and excited at the idea of finally getting his wife back

"Are you going to tell me now?" She asked

"Did you notice that at that time we were quite busy and you barely saw any of us?"

"Yes"

"We were currently dealing with another enemy, but not of our family's, of the city. He held a grudge to new orleans over something that happened to his family and at first we underestimated his power but after seeing how much he could find out in only a matter of minutes and how strong he was we decided not to involve you"

"Why?"

"Because you were human, and he would hurt you. When you told me you were pregnant I got scared both at the prospect of being a father and also because we couldn't have a child around at that time. So I did the only the only thing I could think of to protect you I made you believe that I didn't believe you"

"Couldn't you have just sent me away and communicate with me while I was gone?"

"He would have known, not having any contact with you was the only way to keep you safe"

"How long did it take for it to end?"

"3 months"

She looked down at her hands, tears of relief building in her eyes

"And what happened between Hayley and I was a drunken mistake, neither of us barely remember what happened"

He looked at her and noticed her tears. He held her hand and squeezed it softly, They felt shots of electricity go through them

"You know you're all I've thought about for the last two years" he continued "It felt unnatural when you left, I got so used to being in your presence that I felt like I lost a part of myself when you were gone"

"I missed you" she said

He squeezed her hand tighter

"I missed you too"

He noticed her drowsy eyes

"You can sleep, darling. I'll wake you up when we get there"

"They're twins, by the way".

She complied and was fast asleep in a few seconds

He smiled to himself as he watched over her. He felt his heart beating faster

After so long of searching, he finally got her back
