🌛CHAPTER 5🌜

*Elina's POV*

"I need everybody's permission slips, okay?" The teacher shouts to all of us, barely back and I had to go on some school trip.

"Sammy, please collect them." The teacher says to a girl standing closets to him.

"Yeah."

"Guys, let's go. Come on, get in. In. Let's go!" Our teacher yells once again, hurrying everyone. Bella was so obsessed about the accident the other day, that's the only thing on her mind, she's been spaced out since then.

"Look at you guys, huh? You're alive." Mike states dramatically, appearing infront of us.

"I know, yeah. False alarm, I guess." Bella says, being her awkward usual self.

"Yeah. Now, I wanted to ask you, you know, if, you know, it's like a month away, but... Do you wanna go to prom with me? So, what do you think?" Mike asks my sister, but obviously she wasn't listening, her attention on Edward.

"About what?" Bella asks confused, having no idea what he was talking about.

"Do you want to go? To prom? With me?" Mike asks her once again, full of hope, that she would be going with him, but I knew she would come up with an excuse not to go.

"I see... Prom. Dancing. Not such a good idea for me. I have something that weekend anyway. I'm going to Jacksonville that weekend." Bella says, and just like that he was rejected.

"You can't go another weekend?" Mike asks.

"Non-refundable ticket." Bella states, his attention suddenly turning towards me. "And you Elina, would you...." Mike tried to ask me, but I interrupted him, "I'm gonna stop you there, I'm not some second choice not to anybody, so don't even ask, and I ain't planning on going to prom anyway, so good luck finding a date, if you'll excuse me." I say, walking away, not in the mood for their crap, everyone sees me as a second choice, not this time.

"Yo, yo, yo. Hey, guys, come on. We gotta go. We gotta go. Green is what? Good." Our teacher says, seeing some of the students were still just standing around. "Let's go. Guys, come on. Other bus, other bus. Let's go." He says once the one bus was full.

And our school trip took us to a greenhouse, not that I was complaining, it always felt like nature was talking to me, which was just crazy talk.

"Egg shells, carrot tops. Compost is cool. Now, stuff that in there, Eric." We listened as the teacher talk, and was looking around.

"Yes, sir. Yes, sir." Eric says, doing as he was told. "Very good, very good.w, I am gonna make a steaming cup
of compost tea." The teacher says holding the cup at a tap that was at the bottom as it was filled up with water with a brown greenish colour.

"Okay."

"Give me that." Tyler says taking it from him

"Yeah. This is recycling in its most basic form, guys. Don't drink it! It's for the plants." Our teacher yells seeing some of the idiots would actually try and drink it.

Jasper suddenly appeared by my side, surprising me, since we haven't really talked since the day the accident happened. "Hey, I've been meaning to thank you for the other day." I say, making him look at me.

"There's no need to do that." He says in that southern accent of his.

"But I do, so thank you." I say smiling at him.

"It's a pleasure my lady."  He says, smiling down at me. We walked in silence, until he spoke up again. "Aren't you the least bit curious about anything that happened the other day?" He asks me curiously.

"Curious, yes. Obsessed, no. I'll find out what it is, if destiny thinks it's my time to find out, I won't force it otherwise, so I'll just think of it, as you had an adrenaline rush when you saw I was in danger, and saved me. I could careless about how things happened that day, the only thing is that I'm alive. So, you don't have to worry about me questioning you, like Bella has been doing to Edward, it's none of my business." I told him, I could see that my words actually relaxed him a little bit, which made me glad.

"So, why do you hate prom so much?" Jasper asks, he sounded genuinely curious

"There's a lot of reasons, one being I know for a fact it's gonna be a waste of time. I'd rather be crawled under my blankets, watching a movie." I tell him honestly.

"That does sound better than being surrounded by people." He says in agreement with a grin

"Right?"

"Yeah."

The rest of the time we spent in the greenhouse talking about the history of certain plants, Alice joined us later on, she was weird, but the good type of weird, and that's what I liked about her.

Walking back to the busses, we found Bella and Edward that looked like a very heated conversation.

"Hi. Are you gonna be riding with us?"  Alice asks Bella.

"No, our bus is full." Edward says, storming into their bus, and Bella quickly made her way to ours.

"So much drama." I say.

"Tell me about it." Alice says, also getting on the bus, leaving Jasper and I.

"Elina, I might be a bit forward, but I hope we can be friends?" Jasper asks, which was just adorable.

"Jaz, you became my friend the moment you saved my life." I told him, leaving a quick kiss on his cheek, and ran towards my bus, before it leaves without me.

When Bella and I got home, we found dad sitting in the kitchen with a newspaper.

"Your mom called. Again." He says putting down the newspaper.

"That's kinda your fault dad." I point out taking the seat across from him. "You shouldn't have told her
about the "almost" accident. You finished?" Bella asks, pointing at his plate. She took his place putting it in the sink.

"Yeah. Yeah, I suppose you're right.
She always did know how to worry. She seems different. She seems happy. Phil sounds like an all right guy." Dad says, trying to make conversation, this was the first time he actually brought up mom and Phil's relationship.

"Yeah, he is." Bella says, walking away.

"All right." Dad says, understanding he wasn't getting anymore out of her, I started with dinner.

After I ate, I went to take a bath, and got into bed, dreaming about Jasper and his beautiful golden eyes.
