Floor 21 - Apartment 520 - August 2, 2023 - 07:12
A small light can be seen through a window, the sun making its presence, a new day blooming after a boring night. The sky slowly changes from a darker shade to its now comforting purple hue, an alarm in the apartment goes off, which awakens no one. Two people sleep, clueless, on a couch, one on top of the other's leg, poorly covered by a small blanket that does nothing. The alarm keeps going off, the two continue sleeping through it, it gets louder by the second.
They both stay asleep, this is until a door can be heard slamming, Yumi wakes up immediately. Turning off the alarm before checking the time. She felt something grabbing onto her leg, but paid it no attention.
"...I'm late..." Yumi whispers, before staring blankly into the universe.
She knocks herself out of her daze looking around, she looks down, seeing both Kristi and a paper. She picks up the paper, it's a note, she can tell it's from Junie, she does this often.

I'm going to work, stay in.
Someone died.
At your school.
No one really knows how.
There's some burn marks and a broken torso,
wouldn't want that to be you.
Higher ups or whatever are dealing with their spirit.

"..huh.. again..." Yumi says, putting her hand in Kristi's hair.
Kristi wakes up, not just by hearing Yumi's voice, but her touch as well. Kristi gets up, glasses falling onto Yumi's leg. Looking up at Yumi, especially at this time, made Kristi nervously happy, an awkward smile forming on Kristi's face.
('I am never waking up ever again. Life doesn't get any better from this point.')
Kristi sits up, before switching to being on knees instead, now appearing as the same height as Yumi. Yumi looks at Kristi, naturally confused, but with a neutral look on her face. She puts her palm back on Kristi's head, before showing the paper to Kristi.
"..Again!? " Kristi exclaims, immediately shocked by the situation.
"..the same thing happened in June... it's getting worse now.." Kristi adds with a hint of fear.
A sudden explosion-like sound can be heard from outside, it just keeps going off, repeating every second. Yumi gets up and decides to look outside from the window, expecting something inconvenient. What she hadn't expected was a corpse. It's burnt, bloody, and has most of its limbs in different areas, it also has an explosive inside of it. Even if it's just sitting there, one thing is very, very clear...
It's going to explode again.
There's nothing Yumi can do about this, she's too high up, she stands there, stuck in place as shock and fear overtakes her body. Kristi looks up at Yumi, obviously concerned for her. Kristi runs to her, going to the same window, the same sense of fear striking Kristi, with an expression of pure fear. Yumi would have ran, but she just woke up, she has no energy. All she can do is stare at the corpse and wait.
... ... ...
Someone from a floor, higher from the one that the two are on, jumps. Shattered glass falling with the person, as they quickly make their way to the bottom, exactly where the corpse is. In fractions of a second, the corpse is split even more, the explosive being split along with its many pieces. This all happened, in less then half of a second.
Kristi didn't see what happened, and stood still, thinking about what the spirit life would be like. Yumi however, saw most of it. She attempted to find out who it was who had saved everyone in the building. The moment the person had turned around, the window was suddenly covered by smoke, from both the destruction of the explosives and swift speeds it was done at.
Yumi goes back to the couch, disappointed that she didn't get to see the life saver. She was so disappointed that she left Kristi at the window, who is still standing there, without any movement.
Floor 21 - Apartment 520 - August 2, 2023 - 13:01
It took hours for Yumi to notice, even more for Kristi to realize that life was still going on. The two have been in the apartment doing nothing for a few minutes, not speaking, just sitting. Yumi gets a message, it's from Sadama, she decides to actually see what I her sister sent her. It's a photo, of Sadama with Hope, in... Britain???
Yumi's confused, Kristi can see it on her face, approaching Yumi slowly.
"Sorry Kristi, give me a second.." Yumi says, running into her room, calling Sadama.

A Not-Too-Serious Call
Sadama picks up, laughing already.
"What happened Yumi..? You never pick up THIS quickly!" Sadama states, trying not to burst out laughing, some slight giggles can be heard in her background too.
"Why do you do this every time you come back!?" Yumi exclaims, a little mad and jealous too.
"It isn't that serious this time, I'll be back tomorrow! I'll even bring you something!" Sadama responds.
"...alright." Yumi replies, with shame in her voice.
She hangs up, while making her way back to the couch. As she arrives there though it feels as something's ... off..
