I was standing in front a mirror, adjusting my dress and trying to muster up a smile. I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. I was missing them- My parents, and the birthday, which I used to celebrate with them, but me being God's not so favourite child, he took them away from me on my 15th b'day. The same d𝘢y as today, the only difference is that, they're not with me anymore.

For now, I'm going out. With whom? Alone obviously. My brother is still at his friend's place, his friend called me saying that, they're gonna sleepover together. It's alright tho, I've called his friend's mom and asked her to take care of him.

And here I'm, trying to convince myself, that I don't need anyone else to have a good time- This is what I say to calm myself, but the empty silence of my apartment and the faint scent of last night tears on my pillow story are telling me a different story.

"Drinks will help"

"It'll take your mind off things"

"It helps you to release your stress"

That is what they say.

Just one drink will be okay right? I just want to release all of my pain today.

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed my purse and headed out in the night, towards the flashing lights and pulsating music of the club downtown.

Maybe they are right, maybe a few drinks would numb the ache in my chest and help me forget everything, if only for a little while.

I hailed a taxi and slid into the backseat.

I pushed open the heavy doors of the club, and stepped into the dimly lit club, enveloped by the thumping bass and swirling lights.

My eyes was scanning the crowd with a mix of curiosity and fear. I mean it is my first time at a place like this, and I don't even know which drink I should order. All I know is "Whiskey", as I've heard my batchmates in college talking about it.

Is it okay, not to know about the drinks? It's totally normal right?

I made my way towards the bar. The bartender looked at me and greeted me with a smile. Tall height, pierced nose, tattoos on her hands, dusky skin, long straight hairs tied in a ponytail and a piercing on her lips.
She's so pretty.

"𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩?" She spoke and I hesitated for a bit, unsure of what I wanted, but then I remembered, why I'm here?
