A few hundred miles later and we're slowing down to a normal speed and Dreagon turns the bike onto a slightly bumpy dirt road. About a mile later we're driving down into the mouth of some sort of cave. Luckily it's a very short cave ride before we're coming out the other side and I can't believe my eyes. The house, or should I say mansion is spectacular. It looks a lot like a modern castle with towers and high windows. Dreagon veers to the left and I let out a small yelp as the ground in front of us opens up. He drives down the slopped opening into an underground garage. He stops next to a line of other cars and bikes, all of them looking expensive as hell. Dreagon offers me a hand to get off the bike and I accept it now that my legs are like jelly after that long ride. Not even half a minute after both of us have our feet on the ground does a door on the opposite side of the garage open. The hottest woman I've ever seen walks through it and I freeze as her eyes lock on mine before she looks at my hand that's still being held by Dreagon. His grip tightens on my hand. She practically blinks to a few steps in front of us and smiles at me before turning her full attention to Dreagon. She flings herself at him, throwing her arms around his neck and pulling him against her. He lets go of my hand and wraps his own arms around this woman. Jealousy lights a flame in my gut before she's pulling away and looking at him sternly "We were all worried sick after you disappeared in the middle of the night without a peep! You know better then that Mr!" She turns to me and her smile returns "Hello darling." She extends a hand to me and I shake it. "My name is Mazikeen, but my friends call me Maze. You look tired, would you like some tea or something a little stronger perhaps?" I force myself to return her smile "Some tea would be great, thanks." She nods "I'm sure you've had a long night. I'll go start your tea. Dreagon, your brothers are in the dining area as well. I had them wait so Scarlet wouldn't be too overwhelmed." She winks at me before turning and making her way back to the door across the room. The giant ramp behind us lifts and closes shut. "I'm sorry, I should've given you a better warning about my brothers and my sister, especially my sister, She's a lot." I feel the tension seep from my body "Sister? Yeah a warning would've been nice." He straightens at my words "Well, she was smiling at you, which will shock the others as much as it does me. She doesn't normally smile at people. Come on, tea and sleep await you." Sleep, now there's an idea. He grabs my hand and we make our way across the room, through the doorway and up a set of stairs. We step into the biggest, most extravagant kitchen I've ever seen. None of the houses in those luxury home magazines even hold a flame to this one. The long bar across one wall that's fully stocked is just the cherry on top. Maze is standing on the opposite side of said bar, facing me and two men sit across from her with their backs to us. Maze instantly smiles at me, holding up a cup of what I assume is tea. Both men whip their heads around, inhumanly fast. I guess Dreagon was right, they both do seem to be surprised. They're both incredibly handsome, but in completely different ways. They're both tall, but that's the end of their similarities. The one on the left is skinny, but you can still see muscles poking through his shirt. He has long, chin length hair and the color reminds me of autumn leaves before they fall. His bright blue eyes are framed by round glasses. While the one on the right is gigantic, I mean he's like the size of a bear. From what I can tell, he's all muscle. His dark hair is short, almost a buzz cut. From where I'm standing his eyes look like they're a dark green. "Brother! We were all so worried, you can't just slip out in the middle of the night like that without at least telling us! You could've at least messaged one of us, ya know via mind link." The smaller one states, Dreagon clears his throat "I do apologize, Zeek. I was in a hurry and I was gone longer than I expected to be. I was just trying to get a peak at her before I realized hell hounds were closing in, so I had to improvise." Okay, so the smaller one is Zeek. Need to remember that. The big one looks at me and smiles, but it doesn't seem genuine like Maze's smile did. "Yes, well, we have company now. Zeek, I'm surprised at how rude we've been and even more surprised that I'm the one saying so. Hello Scarlet, I'm Markus. You'll have to excuse us, our brother leaving and turning all his communications off had us all assuming the worst." I nod at him and glance at Dreagon "Yes, I can understand that." Zeek straightens to his full height "Oh my, I'm sorry Scarlet! We don't really receive... guest often." I just nod at him "So, mind telling us what happened? Why has my brother left in the middle of the night and then returned with you the following morning?" Markus says before Maze speaks up "Boys! Enough, she's had a long enough night without you two bombarding her with questions! Let her enjoy her tea before she goes and gets some sleep." She shoos them both from the bar, freeing both their seats. Dreagon walks me over to the bar and I choose to sit in Zeeks now empty spot and Dreagon sits next to me. Maze hands me a still steaming cup of tea and it smells divine. I raise the cup to my lips and take a greedy sip. It's amazing and it's not too hot to where it burns my tongue. I smile at Maze "This is the best tea I've ever had!" She nods like 'duh' "It's one of my personal blends, I'm glad you like it." I feel Dreagon stiffen beside me "Wow, I had to wait years to try one of your personal blends and you give it to Scarlet within minutes of meeting her? How positively rude, if I do say so myself." She rolls her eyes at him "There's such a big difference between the two of you, and you know that. For one, I've never had any reason to try to impress you. If she is who you claim she is then I sure as hell want to be on her good side! Not to mention you know what my mother put me through, I've been waiting for this for years." Great, so she's being so nice because of who she thinks I am. I shake my head "Sorry to disappoint, but I really don't think I'm who you all seem to think I am. I mean, Hecate, a goddess, being my mother?" Maze sighs "Technically, yes. I grew up knowing her as the Queen of witches and mother of magic. It's quite possible that you are her child. You came here with an angel of death and I'm a demon who's in love with an angel of death for goodness sake, anything is possible." My jaw drops and I look at Dreagon for confirmation. He nods his head slightly at me. Holy hell, she's a demon! "Alright, that's it. I'm definitely dreaming and my alarm is going to wake me up any minute now." That's the only possibility, or they're all crazy. Maybe I've made a big mistake coming here with I guy I just met. Sounds pretty bad when I think about it that way. Maze clears her throat. "Actually, I think you do need to go lay down, Dreagon show her to your room so she can rest for a bit. Come back down and talk with me after you help her get settled, if you will." Dreagons standing before she finishes her sentence "I'll be back down in a bit, come on Scarlet. None of the others rooms are prepared for guests so for now you can rest in my room and we'll get another ready for you." The thought of being in his room and sleeping in his bed makes me feel both excited and nervous. I stand and smile at Maze "I guess this is goodnight and possible goodbye if this is all just a dream." She nods and smiles "Goodnight, Scarlet." I follow Dreagon to his room, it smells like sandalwood and lavender. His room is large, big surprise, on the opposite side of the room is a large circular bed and to our right was a pool table, to the left another door that I assume leads into a bathroom. There's books and records everywhere. A large coffee table and couch sit in the center of the room. "You okay?" He asks, I take a few steps towards his bed. "I'm fine, at some point I'd love to snoop through your things, but right now I'm too exhausted to do anything but climb into that incredibly comfy looking bed." he chuckles and leads me over to his bed.He pulls the blanket down so I can climb in, I don't hesitate jumping in. The bed is indeed as soft as it looks, like laying on a cloud. He pulls the blanket up and over me, tucking me in. "Get some sleep, everything can wait until tomorrow. You're safe here for the night." He brushes some hair from my face before leaning down to kiss the top of my head. I think about asking him to lay with me, but exhaustion is already pulling me under and the words never have a chance to leave my mouth.
