I'm back on the cliff, standing beneath the branches of a tree that seems to glow from the colorful veins running through it. I glance around, expecting to see Dreagon close by, but he's nowhere to be seen. Strange. A beautiful woman steps out from behind the tree with long, raven black hair that reaches below her waist. Her yellow eyes seem to almost glow in the dim light as they look me up and down. A cold chill runs down my spine and my entire body goes on high alert. "Who are you? Why are you here?" I ask, finally finding my voice. She smiles then, stepping closer to me. "Hello darling, my name is Sabine and I am one of the few witches to sit upon the witch council. Some of my fellow sisters sent hounds after you, obviously none of them returned. When they realized they were all dead, it did indeed make them angry, but it also made them even more curious of you. I wanted to finally meet you and try to warn you. If you're Hecate's daughter then I will help you in any way I can. Most of the witches look forward and wish to welcome you for coming home, but there are some who wish your existence weren't true. Along with a few that just wish to use your power to win the war and take over by your side. Hecate was my closest friend, she took me in and saved me when I had hit rock bottom. After my village was destroyed I didn't see any point in living on. Helping her daughter is the least I can do, since I couldn't save her." She's standing only a step or so in front of me by the time she's finished talking. My breath catches in my throat, she's both extremely beautiful and intimidating. She just sends off waves of power that terrify me. If she was friends with Hecate like she says and if I am her daughter then maybe that means she really will be of some help to me. She tilts her head slightly to the side "I can tell you're conflicted. Do you not believe me?" I shake my head "Honestly I don't know what or who I believe right now. There's been a lot to take in today. Do I believe you knew Hecate and that you were her friend? Sure, I can believe that. Is Hecate my mother and Lucifer my father? Not likely, how could I possibly be their child. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that you all exist!" Her eyes narrow on me and for the first time since she came from behind that tree, I feel like I'm in real danger. I'm just about to take a step back from her when her hand darts out and she grabs onto my wrist. Power radiates from her hand into my arm and I take in a quick breath at the feeling. She smiles at me again "Oh my, there's no doubt that you are the daughter of Hecate. I can feel her blood, her powers running through your veins. The spell she placed on you was a strong one to keep it all buried so deep within you. The demon with you will know how to break it. With the right herbs and incantation it won't be difficult for you to undo the spell yourself, but only you can undo it." I pull my wrist from her grasp "Maze? How would Maze know how to undo a spell done by a goddess and how the hell do you know I'm with her?" She frowns at my rudeness "Because I know you're with Dreagon and if you're with him then he took you to her and his brothers. Maze isn't much older than you, when the story spread that your mother was expecting she was only four years old and from that day on her mother forced her to know and learn any and everything about you and your parents. One of the things she made her memorize was the spell to undo a spell like the one your mother used. When they found your parents a couple years later and everyone believed you died, she didn't believe it. She went insane trying to find where they hid you. When Maze left to be with that angel she fell for, she snapped and her reasons for wanting to find you changed. Instead of just wanting you to take your mothers place so hell would have a rightful leader again, she wants to wipe all the angels out and have hell take control of heaven and hell. I can't allow that, there must be balance. Maze may be a demon, but she has a conscience unlike any other demon. Unlike how most others become demons, she was born, or should I say made by her mother. Lilith is powerful and dangerous, but she's not your only problem from down below. Gretchen is a witch that no doubt wants you dead. She has fiery red hair and is hard to miss, if you run into her be wary. She's been after Dreagon for years and now that words have gotten out that he saved you and killed those hounds, she'll be livid. She won't take kindly to Dreagon being your soulmate. She's always been one of the witches that never hoped for your arrival, but now she'll want you dead." She's been after Dreagon for years? My ears fill with a high pitched buzz, a witch wants Dreagon? "Why does she want him so badly?" Her frown deepens "She claims she loves him, that he was made for her. I know that she really just wants to chain him up and keep him as her personal pet and play-thing. She claims she almost had him before he became an angel of death. Who knows what truth there is there though." I shake my head. My brain can't keep up with all this new information. She's saying Dreagon and I are soulmates, but that a witch wants to make him her pet and has been trying to do so for years. Over my dead fucking body. Somehow I know we're running out of time so I pull myself together as best I can "Thank you, for the warning and all the information. I do hope to see you again, maybe you can tell me more about Hecate.." She smiles again at me "Yes, we shall meet again and I'd love to tell you about your mother." She slightly bows her head before disappearing.
