Chapter 04: Entering the past
Lu Guang Laeretia and Cheng Xiaoshi stood together taking a deep breath as they prepared for their mission. The room was silent filled
Lu Guang’s voice broke the silence, steady and calm “Our rule?”
Cheng Xiaoshi responded, his tone serious, “No changing the past.”
Lu Guang nodded, “Our goal?”
Laeretia finished “To find the truth.”
Cheng Xiaoshi closed his eyes briefly, his hands glowing faintly as he began to concentrate. “Time needs to be turned back.”
Lu Guang held the photograph of Long Xhishi in his hand, focusing intently. “The photo needs to be fixed.”
In an instant Laeretia and Cheng Xiaoshi vanished into the image their bodies dissolving into the photograph’s world leaving Lu Guang behind to watch from both of their perspectives
one eye seeing through Cheng Xiaoshi and the other through Laeretia

Laeretia’s POV:
I blinked, my vision adjusting as I opened my eyes to find myself in an unfamiliar room
The soft weight of a blanket covered my body and I realized I was lying on a bed
I tried to sit up, but before I could, I heard Lu Guang’s voice in my ear “Don’t get up now… Xhishi’s mother will come and wake him up. Try to act like you’re sleeping.”
I sighed softly closing my eyes again and trying to relax A few moments later I heard a door creak open.and a woman’s gentle voice called out “Xhishi, wake up! You’re going to be late for college!”
I opened my eyes slowly and yawned, trying to act as natural as possible “Fine, fine, Mum, I’m getting ready,” I replied ln getting up and stretching
It felt strange to be in a man’s body especially that....p- ahem nvm everything felt slightly off, but I tried to ignore it
Lu Guang’s voice guided me again “Now, go straight out and you’ll find Cheng’s… girlfriend Fe-Zhi That’s Cheng.”
I couldn’t help but snicker at the thought “PFFT, Cheng as a girl! LOL, WHAT?”
“Be serious!” Lu Guang’s stern voice cut through my amusement
I chuckled “Yeah, yeah, whatever. Sorry.”
Following Lu Guang’s instructions, I made my way downstairs “Xhishi, have something to eat before you leave!” his mother called out as I reached the bottom step
“Uh… no, I’ll eat on my way, Mum!” I said quickly trying to sound casual, before rushing out the front door
Just as I stepped outside I bumped into someone I looked up to see a pretty girl with a playful expression. “Tch, you’re so bad at acting, Laeretia,” she muttered
“Oh, wait, you’re Cheng?” I blurted out
“Duh,” the girl replied, rolling her eyes
“Silence you two Don’t speak your real names idiots” Lu Guang scolded through our ears, and we both chuckled
A moment later Lu Guang’s voice came through again, more focused “Look into Xhishi’s phone, Laeretia But before that, you both need to find somewhere safe.”
Cheng and I quickly walked down the street our footsteps echoing off the pavement
We spotted an abandoned building and ducked inside The air was cool and slightly musty, but it would do
I pulled out Xhishi’s phone and tried to unlock it “Shit, it has some kind of password No matter what I type, it’s not unlocking,” I muttered in frustration
“Try to break it,” Lu Guang suggested.
I scoffed, “Do I look that smart, dumbass?” I retorted, feeling annoyed
Cheng smirked and held out his hand “Yo, yo, calm down Gimme the phone.”
Taking it from me, he started fiddling with the screen “Hmm… did you try his birthdate?”
“Duh, of course, I did,” I replied crossing my arms
Cheng thought for a moment. “Wait, Lu, what’s my birthdate? I mean, the girl’s body I’m in?”
Lu Guang’s voice came back, calm and collected “According to the documents, her birthday is XX XX XXXX.”
Cheng’s face lit up with an idea. “Lemme try it. Maybe it’s her birthdate…”
I waited, feeling my heart pounding slightly The tension was almost unbearable A few seconds later Cheng’s face broke into a grin
