8. Writing and Speaking Practice:

A short sentence is a sentence that contains a subject, a verb, and usually an object, but it's concise and to the point. Here are some ways to make a short sentence:

1. Use strong verbs: Instead of saying "He walked slowly," try "He strolled."

2. Cut out unnecessary words: "The dog was running quickly" can be simplified to "The dog sprinted."

3. Use active voice: "The ball was thrown by the boy" is less impactful than "The boy threw the ball."

4. Combine sentences: "The sun was shining. The birds were singing." can be combined into "The sun shone, and the birds sang."

5. Use simple sentence structure: "I went to the store, and I bought some milk." can be shortened to "I bought milk at the store."

Here are some examples of short sentences:

- The cat slept.
- She smiled.
- He ate pizza.
- The train arrived.
- We laughed.
