Change.

Chapter 6

Getting up from bed is the most difficult thing to do in the morning. Well at least for me it is but I eventually told myself to do so and get ready.
It's really early so I didn't really expect my family to be awake yet. Getting my breakfest I headed to my bus stop.
I plugged in my head phones and blast my music. I took my time to walk to the bus stop since it wasn't that far from my house. Just as I was crossing the street I felt someone poke my arm, so I turned and infront of me was Isaac smiling at me.

"Hey" he greeted.
I smiled and awkwardly waved "Hi".
"You're headed to the bus stop?" he ask.
"Yep the one on 12th street."
"Oh cool. Me too"
"Nice. we should get going or else we'll miss it". I laughed and started walking again.
"Right"
It was kind of awkward for a couple minutes until I started talking again. Break the ice right!
"So how are you liking it here so far?"
"It alright. Not a big change from where I moved from. I actually lived close by."
"Oh nice. So its not much of a change then. Do you like your new school?" lame question I know but I had to keep it the conversation going.
"Eh it's a'ight" was his response.
I just nodded my head slowly and noticed we had made it to the bus stop. The bus came soon after. Perfect timing. I told myself.
Kids piled on the bus; once I got in I found an empty seat near the back. I sat down and placed my backpack besided me. I looked over the seat infront of me and saw that the new guy had found a seat next to some dude.
You know the thing I find strange but cool at the same time is that guys seem to be quick to talk and become friends with each other and with girls well lets just say it's different.

I went on with my normal routine of meeting up with the "squad" and once again Isaiah was gone but i didn't bother to ask if anybody knew where he was.

Once we were in second period I saw that the new guy( I should start calling him by his name. I feel like a bitch) was already sitting at the table. I just rolled my eyes and took my seat anyways.
"Hey... Eva, right?"
"didn't I say that was my name?" is what I wanted to say but to be polite I smiled and nodded "yes that's my name." I really don't understand why I get so agitated by him. He just gave me a short nod and then the teacher started talking.

-during lunch-

"Well I was thinking that we should met up at the park after school"
Nayla and I were currently trying to decide where to hangout after school.

"Yeah I guess we could." I agreed.
"Hey look who's coming this way" Nayla looked straight ahead and surely somebody was walking towards our table. Isaiah was.
I waved him over and I couldn't help but let my huge smile appear on my lips. He smiled too and picked up his pace.
"Hey haven't seen you" he said, while taking a seat infront of me.
" yeah. Haven't seen you either. You just disappear all of a sudden." I joked.
"You know my reasons" he winked at me. Never really thought he was the winking type. Eh. Funny thing is that Nayla just gave me a pointed look.
"I guess I do. So hey do you wanna kick it today after school?"
"Where at?"
"The park. Close by where I live."
"Sure. A'right see ya ladies later gotta go."
"Alright see ya after school. Don't lag." I said while laughing.
" You know I won't baby." I felt my face starting to heat up but this time I didn't put my head down, I just smiled at him. He smiled at me tapping my chin. And with that he left.

---after school---

I was walking out of the library, looking for Nayla so we can start walking to the bus but I didn't spot her. I was getting close to the main building until I saw Isaac. I began to walk slower and try to avoid him or at least make it seem like I didn't see him there. Rude I know but I really can't stand him.
As soon as I started to get close to the door I walked faster, taking out my phone. But that was no use.
"Aye. You heading to the bus?." Isaac spoke suddenly.
"Yeah actually I was looking for Nayla cause we were going together but I can't find her."
" I saw her walking toward the gym building with Mikey. Wanna go look for them?"
I shrugged my shoulders "sure."
"Are you going to kick it with them?" he asked.
"Yeah we were gonna to go to the park. Just chill. Are you sure you want to help me look for them? You missed your bus."
"Nah I actually was tryna find Mikey cause he said he'd let me ride with him and his girl. Said something about meeting up in the parking lot and then I ran into you." jeez. Here I am thinking he was that nice.
"Oh." was all I said.
We crossed the street and saw Mikey, Nayla and Isaiah talking next to Mikey's car.
"Oh Eva I forgot to call you. I sent you a message. You didn't get it?" Nayla said.
"No actually I didn't."
"Oh sorry next time I'll call you then."
"Yeah or actually send a message." I joked. She started laughing "ok let's go!"
