Once Autumn had stepped back into the room, her face was nothing but utter panic she even gulped. Confused, Reece lifted his arm to tap aut's shoulder. Autumn then instantly kicked his shins with mighty power. "OWWW!" Yelled Reece. Autumn replied quietly "Oh stop being dramatic!" Reece then gathered she was not in a good mood, he could only guess the social worker had pushed her buttons to hard. Autumn has never been good at her expressing her emotions, she would let them out on other people. As guilty as this made her feel, she wasn't aware of any other way, so she'd mask this with drinking and she still dose the same thing. Autumn didn't care if it killed her, she didn't care if it was the reason she didn't wake up the next morning, she wanted out but tried to hang on for Reece. It was like she was holding onto a branch that was slowing snapping, but once it snapped she'd fall in a pile of leaves, every time she got close to escaping forever, life would make her keep living.
After witnessing Autumn become frustrated with her brother, a doctor called Autumn out. Roger tried to hide his grin as he watched both his kids stare at the doctor in fear. Reece stood and watched like a puppy who's owner had just drove away, as Autumn was ushered out of the room. He then tried to race after them as the social worker followed behind, but Roger slammed the door before he could reach her. Roger then flicked Reece on the back of his head before calling him a "daft boy". Reece tried to stand taller than he was, he tried to be a shield and act tougher than he was, but in reality he was a child who never got the love he needed to thrive. Roger then used his arm to cover the door handle, as his son shouted "WHERE ARE THEY TAKING HER?" as Reece tried to move his father's arm out the way. "OH STOP BEING SO DAM PROTECTIVE REECE, THEY JUST WANT TO DO A CHECK UP BEFORE SENDING HER HOME!" Roger shouted in his son's face. As Reece clutched onto Roger's arm, desperately trying to open the door, Roger swung him onto the floor. The floor felt the same as their dinning room floor did, just a little warmer from where the sun shone more, but there he was again. A twelve year old boy, trying to rip his father's menacing hands off of him. He then kept blinking until his mind had eventually returned to reality. "I'll meet you in the car Reece" said Roger as then walked off and slammed the door once he knew Autumn was out of the hallway. Giving Reece's past, no wonder he had trust issues with his dad, he didn't believe him. But thankfully this time Roger was right. He then had another flash back.
It was of the night their mother had left, he and Autumn were huddled up in his room, the sound of his father and mother screaming had kept him up. "What's going on with mummy?" Autumn sobbed in tears. "They're just having an argument, like we do sometimes aut." He replied reassuringly whilst holding her hand tightly, he was trying to stay strong. "But why is mummy crying she said" Autumn said whilst crying even louder. "Umm, because-" Before Reece could finish remembering what he had said to comfort aut, a nurse came in to find him sitting on the floor curled up in a ball, staring at a blank wall. "Everything alright?" Gently asked a nurse, she had a Scottish accent and looked old and frail. Reece them stood up and nodded as he rushed out the room to find Roger.
