Thoughts are in italic...The Suryavanshi Mansion:-
Saras's POV
It felt like forever as both Saras and Bhavneet waited for the door to be opened. Saras was anxious, Are they even home? Why is it taking so long to open the door? Do they not want me anymore? Thousands of questions swarmed his brain.
"Hey, it's fine." Bhavneet must have sensed his panic.
Saras nodded, but then the door opened, revealing a beautiful-looking lady. She looks familiar? He tilted his head in confusion. The lady had a look of disbelief, but upon seeing them, "Come in, come in," she urged, and they entered.
Upon entering, Saras looked around and observed his surroundings. The mansion was huge but warm and cozy at the same time. It didn't give the usual oppressive feeling that other massive mansions gave.
"Suru" - He immediately looked in the direction his name was called from and made eye contact with the lady. Her dark brown eyes met his honey-brown ones. She looked happy, but her eyes were filled with tears, and some of them were already trickling down her cheeks. She was looking at him dearly. "Suru, my baby", the lady called him again and slowly approached him. He tilted his head in confusion and looked at Bhavneet. The elder gave him a reassuring smile and whispered, "Your mother."
He immediately turned to his mother, who was standing in front of him, looking at him with worry and desperation.
Warmth filled his head, and just as he was about to take a step towards her, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head. He held his head and fell to the ground, unable to contain his whimpers. The pain was too much to handle - it hurts! He wanted to scream but felt tongue-tied. Through his blurry vision, he saw people moving frantically and heard his name being called by Bhavneet through the buzzing in his ears. He also heard some unfamiliar yet familiar voices alongside Bhavneet, but before he could make out what those voices were saying, darkness consumed him.
Bhavneet's POV
When they were moving Saras to his room, he lost consciousness in his brother's arms. Seeing her son lose consciousness, Saras's mother, Gayathri, lost her cool. "Suru, hey, open your eyes! What happened to him, Bhavneet?!" Bhavneet was taken aback; Gayathri was a strong woman, and he always felt her behavior was very strict towards her children. It was Shashin, Saras's father and his own best friend, who did both mother and father's work. Both the Suryavanshi siblings were closer to their father than their mother. But Bhavneet didn't want to discriminate and question a mother's love, so he remained silent. Shashin gently pulled his wife back, trying his best to hide his own tears. Bhavneet's heart broke a little; his ever-strong best friend was breaking.
Anyway, as Saras lost consciousness, Saatvik, Saras's elder brother, hurriedly carried him to his room and called another doctor, as Gauri, Bhavneet's daughter and their family doctor, was yet to arrive. The doctor arrived in no time. While the doctor was checking Saras's condition, he also had a conversation with Gauri on the phone to understand Saras's condition better. As the family doctor and the one who treated Saras back in New York, Gauri knew everything about his health. After about half an hour, the doctor left, and they went to the living room to wait for Saras to wake up.
There was silence until "Papa!" Everyone turned their heads to find the source of the cherry voice. There, standing, was the little angel cum devil of the Suryavanshi household, Samridhi - Saras's niece. A smile appeared on everyone's face upon seeing her. "Ridhi," Saatvik called, and Samridhi came running towards him. Saatvik took his daughter in his arms. "How was school, sweetheart?" He asked her. "School was awesome, but that's not important; where's Ru?" Someone had said the right thing; children were the most innocent and precious creatures, but they were also the ones who could hurt your feelings the most without even knowing.
