As Shauna and I make our way through the crowd, I feel a sense of anticipation building within me. I love the way Brendon's eyes light up when he performs, the way he commands the stage with his charismatic presence. It's as if he becomes a different person under the spotlight, exuding raw, unapologetic energy.
We find a spot near the stage, close enough to feel the heat from the lights and the thumping bass of the music but dark enough for me to stay hidden out of sight.
The crowd is going wild as the guys take their positions on stage. I feel a surge of pride seeing them up on the stage, knowing all the hard work that they have been putting in at rehersals. Also, I know that Brendon is about to grace the stage and captivate us all. The lights dim, and a single spotlight shines on the microphone stand, creating a dramatic effect. The crowd 's cheers grow louder when Brendon appears, his guitar slung over his shoulder, his presence instantly commanding the room.
He smiles that cheeky grin of his, and the crowd gets louder. I feel a rush of excitement as they begin to play the opening chords of their first song, his voice is smooth and powerful. Shauna and I sing along, my heart swelling with love and admiration. Throughout the next 4 songs, Brendon continues to work the crowd, and he is literally dripping with sweat. Suddenly, in a surprise turn of events, he removes his T-shirt, leaving him up on stage top less, which all of the females in the audience are enjoying. This only seems to spur him on, not that Brendon ever needs any encouragement.
"Is everyone having a good time out there?" He asks the crowd. "This next song is a new one that we have never played live. We hope you like it as much as we do." He shouts out as the intro begins as his eyes scan the crowd, and briefly our eyes meet, but it's so quick that I'm certain he hasnt even registered that it is even me standing here as he begins to sing.Is it still me that makes you sweat?
Am I who you think about in bed?
When the lights are dim and your hands are shaking
As you're sliding off your dress?
Then, think of what you did
And how I hope to God he was worth it
When the lights are dim
And your heart is racing as your fingers touch his skin
I've got more wit, a better kiss
A hotter touch, a better fuck
Than any boy you'll ever meet
Sweetie, you had me
Girl, I was it, look past the sweat
A better love deserving of
Exchanging body heat in the passenger seatNo, no, no, you know it will always just be me
Let's get these teen hearts beating faster, faster
So testosterone boys and harlequin girls
Will you dance to this beat
And hold a lover close?
So testosterone boys and harlequin girls
Will you dance to this beat
And hold a lover close? So I guess we're back to us
Oh, cameraman, swing the focus
In case I lost my train of thought
Where was it that we last left off? (let's pick up, pick up!As the song continues, he does something totally unexpected. He grabs the microphone from its stand, and whilst he's still singing, jumps down from the stage, much to the delight of the crowd. He weaves his way through the audience, high-fiving and hugging fans, his energy infectious, matching that of the crowd. I can't believe my eyes as he begins making his way through the crowd, his chocolate brown eyes sparkling with mischief as he winks at me, letting me know that he has seen me and it sends a jolt of electricity through my body. He continues to sing and makes his way towards me.
Oh, now I do recall
We just were getting to the part
Where the shock sets in
And the stomach acid finds a new way to make you get sick
I hope you didn't expect to get all of the attention
Let's not get selfish
Did you really think I'd let you kill this chorus?Let's get these teen hearts beating faster, faster
So, testosterone boys and harlequin girls
Will you dance to this beat
And hold a lover close?
So, testosterone boys and harlequin girls
Will you dance to this beat
And hold a lover close?
Dance to this beat
Dance to this beat
Dance to this beat
Let's get these teen hearts beating faster, faster
Let's get these teen hearts beating faster
