Chapter eleven

When Leo left me dowm the street we said goodbye and he left and as I started to walk home I saw police cars and an ambulance outside my house. I panicked and started to run up to the house I saw mom standing outside with a police officer and she held her hands up to her face crying.

"MOM!" I shoted as I got closer and she looked up and she broke down in more tears as she saw me.

"HIJA!" She shouted as I embraced her tightly and held her close and the police officer came up to me.

"Are you the daughter of Tommy Mackenzie?" He said and I nodded as mom sobbed loud into my chest.

"Your dad... Hes dead." The officer said kindly and put his hand in my back and brushed gently with his hand and I felt my eyes tear up as I felt both anger, sadness and pain filled me up.

WAS THAT SO HARD DAD?? A SLIGHT BRUCH AGAINST MY BACK?!?

I sunk down to the ground with my mom and she apologized to me in spanish and held me closer. I broke down as I saw in the corner of my eyes that the paramedics carried him out on a stretcher. I didn't even want to look at him. What I had hoped for, for so long had happened and I felt my whole heart break and at the same time I felt like a stone was gone from my stomach.

No more hurting... No more suffering

The police officer looked like he wanted to say something more. I wiped away tears and looked at him and he gave me a paper.

"we found this at the crime scene" He said and handed me the paper. It had a writing on it that said.

M will take care of them all for you

"does this mean anything to you?" He asked and I looked at my mom and she shook her head and me to. I handed the paper back to him and he nodded.

What does M even mean?

"Okey thank you for all your help, we will stay in touch okey?" He said and walked away from us but I let go of mom and walked up to him again.

"do you really think..." I asked and he turned around and nodded.

"We think your dad was killed" He said and looked over my shoulder and I looked back at mom who stod now alone and confused.

"We can't know for sure but it's just a very strange situation and how he died" He continued and I nodded in agreement.

"I have always been stronger then mom both mentally and physically" I said and gave a weak smile and he gave one back and nodded. He gave me his phone number and told me to call if anything more happens. When they all had disappeared and mom went in I sat down on the stairs outside and just tried to think about it all.

Who the hell is M and why kill Tommy and what does "take care of them all?" Mean?? They will kill more??

Then someone called me and I saw it was Sukis name on top.

"Heyyy! I'm on my way now!"

"okey" I answered really weak

"you sound terrible.. has something happened?"

"Tommy died" It got silent in the phone for a long time.

"are you serious?"

"yep... the cops think it's a murder and not an overdoes, but they didn't tell mom" I continued and she went quiet fast.

"I'm coming over right now" She said and told Niko to hurry up and step on the gas I smiled and felt my tears run down my face again. I don't know what I feel anymore. I took out a cigarette and light it up and took a deep breath trying to calm myself down.

I saw the car as they drove up and I had alredy smoked half of my pack when Suki came up to me and sat down beside me and Niko stod with the car.

"you okey?" Suki asked and I just nodded

"I think I am.. I mean i have hopped and begged for this to happen but when it actually did, I feel relieved but still sad I mean he was still, kinda my dad.." I said and blew out smoke and she side hugged me and I let my head rest on her shoulder.

"Hija..?" We heard a voice behind us and I turned around and stod up with Suki. I tried to hide my cigarette behind my back. Mom stod in the doorway and had red puffy eyes. I hurt to see her like that.

"Suki wanted to swing by" I said and Suki waved and mom embraced her tight.

"You hungry hija?" She asked as she pulled away and Suki looked at me and I nodded at her and she started nodding with me.

"Great a big dinner then" She said and led Suki inside and I sat back down on the stair and continued to smoke.

"I SMELL YOU HIJA!" Mom shouted from the kitchen and I smiled but I put the cigarette out and waved to Niko to come in. When he came up the stairs he stopped and I turned around to face him.

"If you know anything about this and pull Suki into this... I'm gonna end you" I glared at him and he froze.

I then walked in and saw mom in the kitchen and Suki on a chair with three different spanish dishes. I smiled and sat down beside her and she looked at me and her whole face said Help me.
I giggled and looked at mom who stod in the kitchen stress cooking.

"Mamà cero que ya son suficientes tamales" I said and smiled at her and she sighed and nodded.

"Cero que tienes razón hija" She looked at me and smiled weakly. Then I saw Niko come in and Suki light up like the sun and I just glared at him.

I can't fucking trust him or Martina anymore. But Suki loves him so I have to tolerate him for now.

But my thought were cut off when Theo called me. I smiled and showed Suki and she light up even more but I could see concern in Niko's eyes. But I shrugged it off and put Theo on speaker.

"Hey man, Your on speaker!"

"Heeeyyy girls!!!" He shoted into the phone and me and Suki giggled together.

"Wanna go out on the race tonight babes?" He said and I could hear Leo growling in the background of the phone.

"YEEESSS!!" Suki shoted and looked at Niko who smiled and nodded I looked at mom and she smiled but I could see that she was worried.

"I donno Theo... I mean... I.. Tommy died today" I said and they all went quiet but Mom shook her hand.

"Hija... My dear go and have fun... Tom wasn't. really a god papà... so don't waste time on him no more" She said while she gave another weak smile at me and I smiled back and I looked over to Suki who was now crying and I just shook my  head and nodded.

"Okey we're going Theo" I said and Suki wiped tears away and nodded as Niko hugged her.

perfect time to get drunk
