As Sharjeena gets dressed in her and Mustafa's room, their room, it still sounded overwhelming to her. She picked up an earring her mom had gifted her on her wedding, probably one of the only likeable wedding gifts she's got, in that very chaotic and unimaginable wedding.
It was Rubab's 'muh dikhai', another thing she hadn't gotten by her in-laws in this house. The differentiation was so evident that she couldn't even justify it anymore.
Putting away those thoughts she grabbed the other pair when she felt her stomach lurge into this very giddy feeling, something she has been feeling alot recently and was well aware of the cause of it. MUSTAFA.The moment she looked up and her eyes met his, as he rolled up his white kurta pajama sleeves, an outfit he knew she liked him the best in. But it wasn't the outfit that was making her feel that way but rather the way he looked at her, raw, desirable and unbothered by anything around him. It was like a world where he existed, only with her, only for her.
" Aise kya dekh rahe ho?" She asked, trying to look away in order to hide that blush on her face but couldn't, it was like his eyes were begging him to stay.
Like once hers did to him, when she asked him to marry her." Bas aise hi?" Came his very lost reply.
" Aise hi toh itni shiddat nahin aati tum main." there was never a dull moment when they called out to each other's actions." Bas dekh raha hoon ki koi itna khubsurat, mera kaise ho sakta hai." he wasn't kidding. He wasn't teasing her. He was being honest. The most vulnerable self of him in that moment.
" Mustafaaa" she couldn't stop the butterflies that had her flowing off with emotions as she tried running away outside when his hand stopped hers.
She looked up at him with a question when he motioned for her to sit on the couch. Going with his demands she sat down while he kneeled to his knees in front of her, all this while not moving his gaze away for an inch as his hand moved to hold onto her dupatta, putting it over her head and down her face like a veil." Yeh tum kya kar rahe ho? Bahar mehmaan intezaar kar rahe hain." She was confused.
" Main tumhe ek achchi shaadi toh kya, ek shaadi ki rasam bhi nhin de paya jiski tum haqdaar ho. Aaj yeh Maan lete hai ki yeh saare mehmaan tumhare liye aaye hain. Iss Ghar ki Bahu aur meri biwi ko dekhne. Toh uski muh dikhai par ek tohfa toh uske shauhar ko bhi dena chahiye." He said pulling out a box from his pocket.
As she looked it from him with a small smile, it turned to a complete one as she found a watch inside of it. A rose gold one, like it was meant for her. Feeling the texture behind it , she found the date inscribed at the back. Their wedding date.
" Yeh gift toh mujhe tumhe bahut pehle dena chahiye tha. Lekin woh kehte hai na, der aaye durust aaye. Woh waqt shayad hamara nahin tha, par Sharjeena, ab jo waqt hai na aur jo ayega woh ab bas, hamara hoga. Tumhara aur mera. "
She hadn't realized it when the first tear fell and then came the other but one moment she was looking at him and the next he was holding her tight against his chest and she listened to every beat of his heart defining every second of the time they lived together.
