Chapter 30

Niklaus rushed to his now husband and baby momma, trying to help her up only for her to scream in pain. We all looked at each other almost in fear. I rushed to them and helped Nik and Stefan pick her up. While we were picking her up Tyler and Jeremy were clearing a table and putting down blankets so we could lay her down.

I sighed, "Hayley listen to me, when you feel the need to push, then push." I told her in a rushed voice.

Hayley nodded before a scream left her lips. I started mumbling a spell to take some of the pain away before it felt like I was being blocked. "Guys we have a little bit of a problem." I said looking at Nik and Elijah.

"What is it?" Elijah asked me.

"I tried to take her pain away and it didn't work, it's like there is a coven of witches after Hayley and her baby. There is nothing I can do to help this process unless we can get them to back off." I said before looking back at Hayley, "Hayley breathe, you're gonna be okay. I need you to breathe." I told her.

"Athena, I think I need to push now." She said before she started pushing and screaming.

"Nik, hold her hand. It'll help soothe her, let her know that we are still here with her." I told him, getting the blanket ready to wrap the baby in.

I could see the top of the baby's head, "Alright Hayley you're doing great just a couple more pushes. I know that it's a lot and that you feel like you can't do it, but you have to. You have to push, now." I told her trying my best to guide the baby out.

With the final push the baby came out and so did Hayley's last breath. We all made sure that the baby was cleaned and breathing. "Nik she isn't breathing." I told before handing him the baby and starting C.P.R on her to try to get her breathing.

Nik placed his hand on my shoulder, "Athena, she's gone. We have to get the baby out of here." Nik said, causing me to still. The baby is still in danger. I got up and grabbed Kai's hand and started chanting a protection spell on the house. If the witches are coming then they are gonna have to go through me.

Esther's POV

"The baby has been born but there is something wrong." Finn said coming into the room while habiting the body of Vincent.

I looked at him, "What do you mean?" I asked him.

He sighed and shook his head, "It's Athena mother, she put a spell up around the house. She isn't letting anyone in or anyone out. She is protecting the child, mother. Why is she protecting the child?" Finn started pacing the room.

Esther let out a soft chuckle, "It's her twin's child Finn, she's gonna want to care for the child and make sure it's safe. I think she also knows that it is me that is after the child." She said getting up and walking around the table she was sitting at. 

"So what do we do now?" Finn asked her.

"We wait, get them to think that we aren't going after the child and then when they let their guard down that's when we strike." Esther told her son, blowing out the candle and walking away.

Athena's POV

I was looking out of the window holding the baby close, letting her sleep in my arms. "She's beautiful isn't she?" Nik asked her cutting the silence.

"She really is NIk, I'm just trying to figure out how you made something so beautiful." I joked with him.

"You aren't very funny Athena, but you are right. I'm also not sure how I made something so beautiful." Nik said with a smile on his face.

Athena smiled at him, "Want to hold her? I mean she is your daughter." She said, starting to hand her over to Nik. "You also need to name her Niklaus." Athena said to her twin.

"Oh uh sure." He said and put his arms out for her. I set her in his arms and turned back to the window. "I'm sorry." Nik said to her. Athena sent him a confused look. "She's coming, you told us and we, I, didn't believe you. I'm sorry I didn't believe you." Nik said to her before looking at his daughter.

"We will keep her safe, Nik, I promise." Athena said and kissed the baby on the head before starting to walk quietly out of the room.

"Hope." Nik said, making her pause.

"Hope?" Athena asked him.

"Her name, Hope Andrea Mikaelson. Middle name after her mother." Nik said, causing Athena to smile and continue to walk out.

Walking into the bedroom with a smile on her face was a new sight for Tyler and Jeremy, a sight they had missed dearly. "What's got you so smiley baby?"

"Hope Andrea Mikaelson, that's her name. Nik came up with it." Athena said while crawling into the bed between the two men.

"Hope? I like it." Jeremy said with a smile.

"I do as well. It's different." Tyler said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Jeremy pulled her close and kissed her, "You need sleep Honey, get some rest." He wraps his arms around her and pulls her close.

Tyler also kisses her and wraps his arms around her before laying his head on her chest. 

"Marry us?" Jeremy asked.

"What?" Athena answered.
