"Are you going to sit down? or just stand there and stare?" Luke asked, his eyes never leaving his game.
Zander let out a huff, walking over and plopping himself down beside Luke. "I'm bored." He muttered.
Luke rolled his eyes, pausing the game. "You're always bored."
Zander stuck his tongue out at Luke and leaned back against the couch, letting out a sigh, his eyes wandering.
Luke noticed Zander staring at him and raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Nothing." Zander quickly looked away, his face flushed slightly.
Luke smirked, turning to face Zander. "You're staring at me." He chuckled lightly, enjoying the way Zander's face turned redder.
Zander crossed his arms, trying to look nonchalant. "No, I'm not."
The room suddenly darkened as a loud thunderclap echoed outside. Luke glanced towards the window before looking back at Zander.
"Seems like a storm's rolling in." He said, his eyes locking onto Zander's.
As the storm outside grew stronger, Zander couldn't hide his fear. He fidgeted nervously, his eyes darting towards the window every time lightning flashed.
Luke noticed Zander's unease and moved closer, resting a hand on his shoulder. "You're afraid of the thunder, huh?" He chuckled softly.
Zander let out a small whimper and nodded, embarrassment creeping across his face.
Luke smiled, his gaze softening. "Don't worry, I won't let the thunder harm you." He reassured, his voice gentle and comforting.
Zander leaned into Luke's touch, the storm outside forgotten for a moment. He looked up at him with a mixture of fear and trust.
Luke's hand slid down to Zander's waist, pulling him closer. "You're safe with me." He whispered, his breath warm against Zander's skin.
Zander's heart fluttered at Luke's words, his own hands instinctively reaching up to grip Luke's shirt. He buried his face against Luke's chest, seeking comfort and security in his embrace.
Luke wrapped his arms around Zander, holding him close. "I got you." He murmured, his fingers tracing soothing patterns on Zander's back.
Zander let out a shaky breath, the sound of the storm fading into the background as he focused on the steady beat of Luke's heart. He felt safe and protected in Luke's arms.
Luke pressed a gentle kiss to the top of Zander's head, his fingers still running through Zander's hair. "It's gonna be alright." He murmured, his voice soothing.
Zander nodded against Luke's chest, the fear of the storm slowly replaced by a sense of security and comfort. He lifted his head up to look at Luke, his eyes meeting Luke's gaze.
Luke smiled down at him, his hand coming to rest against Zander's cheek. "Feeling better?" He asked softly, his thumb gently rubbing against Zander's skin.
Zander nodded again, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He leaned into Luke's touch, his eyes fluttering closed for a moment.
Luke chuckled softly. "You're too cute when you're scared." He teased, his lips brushing against Zander's forehead.
Zander blushed, shoving playfully at Luke's chest. "Shut up." He mumbled, trying to hide his embarrassment.
Luke laughed again, grabbing Zander's wrists and pinning them gently to the couch. "Don't deny it." He teased, his face inches away from Zander's.
