Genre: Fluff and angst(just a lil)
Zander sneaks up in the corner of the room and peaks around it to try and see if he can listen to the conversation without Luke catching him. He's too far away though he can't make out the words the person is saying he stays there hidden trying to listen in.
As Zander keeps peaking around the corner he sees the expression on Luke's face soften he looks more relaxed and happy at whatever is being said.
Zander feels his heart drop he's scared of what he may be hearing right now.
Zander was starting to panic thinking about all the possibilities of what this conversation was about, he grips onto the corner of the wall and feels sick to his stomach. How could Luke, the person who was suppose to love and care for him, be having a conversation with someone else making him smile and relax so easily and effortlessly. Zander's mind is screaming at him that Luke is definitely cheating on him at this point he can't think of any other explanation as to why this conversation is happening or why Luke looks so happy in it.
Zander couldn't bear to watch Luke smiling happily into the phone so he ducks back behind the wall to prevent himself from breaking down right there Zander is shaking he doesn't know what to do but he knows he has to see who Luke is talking to and what's going on. He keeps glancing back at the corner and hearing snippets of Luke's conversation and it's making his heart thump in his throat. Zander's mind is running full force with awful possibility and the thought that he's about to confirm one of them makes his stomach go into knots.
Zander takes a few deep breaths to calm himself he needs to keep his mind clear to figure out what's going on. He then cautiously approaches the corner again and peeks around it to try and listen in once again, this time his heart is pounding so fast he can hear it in his ears it's like it's throbbing and beating so hard it's gonna explode. Zander grips the wall again as he listens in to the faint sound of the conversation and watches Luke's facial expression closely.
Zander can't really hear the conversation but Luke's facial expressions tell Zander everything, his smile and expression are light and warm his body language is relaxed and his tone of voice is cheerful. Zander feels like he's going to lose it everything in him is screaming at him that Luke's talking to someone else he doesn't want to believe it though Zander feels himself shaking more as he tries to hold himself together. Zander wants to find out who is on the other end of the phone and why are they causing such a happy expression on Luke who haven't smiled at Zander like that in a long time.
Zander's breathing gets heavier as he keeps listening and watching every move Luke makes. There's no doubt in Zander's mind that he's definitely talking to someone else but Zander is in so much turmoil about trying to figure out who the mystery person is and he can't help but feel betrayed and hurt that Luke is happy talking to them and not him. Zander feels like he's on the edge of a breakdown he can't take much more of this he needs to see and know who the person is but he doesn't know how long he can bare just listening to the conversation.
Zander grits his teeth as he stands behind the wall listening in. His heart is racing and he is so filled with confusion, fear, and hurt as he continues to watch Luke talking to the mystery person. The pain it causes Zander just witnessing his own husband smile with such a warm and cheerful expression on his face while not looking at Zander is like a knife to Zander's heart. He wants to break down and cry and scream at Luke so badly, but Zander can't do anything other then stand there and listen.
Zander feels like his heart is gonna beat out of his chest at any moment and his mind is in constant state of alarm as he continues listening. Zander tries to keep his breathing quiet so as to not be noticed. It seems like forever before he hears Luke say something that finally ends the conversation. Zander feels a wave of relief wash over him but he also can't help but feel anxious about what he might find out. He continues to stay ducked behind the wall trying to listen to anything else that might happen.
