Taehyung is rooted in his place. He has found his Kook. Jungkook, his boss, the one who graciously offered to drive him home after work, the one who kissed him a few nights ago, his first kiss is none other than his childhood friend-Kook, the one who promised to marry him.
He needs to tell Jungkook that he is his Tae hyungie. Clutching his childhood photo, he sprints towards the door to meet the CEO but delivery men carrying bouquets of flowers and boxes of chocolates enter the office before he could leave. He moves to the side, allowing them to arrange the deliveries in the office. He flinches as he hears giggles coming just outside the office. His heart lodges in his throat making it hard to breathe as he witnesses Jungkook coming in with a man clinging onto his arms. Taehyung stares at their linked arms and his eyes start to well up. Jungkook looks at the man with heart eyes as he listens to his babbling.
Jungkook and Taehyung make eye contact. The CEO tentatively smiles at the barista. Jungkook clears his throat before he talks. "Uhm, Taehyung-ssi." The CEO began, awkwardly looking at him. 'Now I'm just Taehyung-ssi to you, Kook?' Taehyung thought bitterly, biting his lips to prevent himself from bursting into tears. "You're here? Do you need anything?" Jungkook asked while the man beside him was discreetly glaring at Taehyung. He ignored the man and turned his attention to Jungkook.

"Uh, I-i was going to ask you about the kid in this picture." Taehyung stuttered. Although he already knew the answer, he wanted to be sure. He wants to hear it from Jungkook himself.
"He is my fiancé." Jungkook shortly glanced at his companion. "Taehyung-ssi, I would like you to meet the love of my life, my fiancé-Tae hyungie. After so many years, I found him. A lot has been approaching me, pretending they are my Tae hyungie because they want my money. I'm so happy that I finally found the real Tae hyungie. He even has the photo album that we made when we're kids." The CEO took the photo album from the bag in his hand and showed it to Taehyung. Taehyung wants to scream. He wants to tell Jungkook that this was the album they spent weeks putting together. The album that he failed to bring with him because his uncle kicked him out of the mansion with only the clothes he was wearing. His cruel uncle didn't give him a chance to pack his things before he threw him on the streets.
It's no use spitting out the truth now. The CEO won't believe him. Jungkook will see him as one of those opportunists who conned him in the past. Jungkook will think that he is like them. He will think that he is also after his money. He bites his lips hard, already tasting the blood from it.
Jungkook returns his gaze at Taehyung. "I-i apologize again for kissing you that night. I'm relieved that my Tae hyungie is very understanding that he easily forgives me when I told him that I kissed you." Jungkook lovingly smiled at Tae Rae and kissed his cheek. Taehyung's chest tightens witnessing all this happening in front of him. His Kook is lovey dovey to an impostor and he can't do anything. He feels helpless and hurt at the same time. Why is his life like this? It seems that bad luck follows him all throughout his forsaken life.
