Chapter 3

Jennie woke up as soon as the sunlight hit her bedroom window. It's 8 am and she needs to go to work in two hours. She made up her bed as soon as she got out and made her way to the kitchen.

"Hey" Jisoo suddenly popped out near the kitchen doorway

Jennie let out a shriek followed by a hand over her chest, "Jesus!"

"It's Jisoo, not Jesus" Jisoo retorted with a smirk

Everything that happened last night instantly came flooding back into Jennie's mind, "So that really did happen. You're still here."

"Are you losing your mind? ''cause if you are, I'm gonna need your three wishes ASAP before you completely lose your sanity" Jisoo said with a bit of a mocking tone

"I'm sorry but this is just too big to comprehend that easily. I'm gonna need more time to think about all of this" Jennie motioned her hand around Jisoo, "...And all of you"

Jennie made her way to the kitchen counter top and placed two slices of bread in the toaster and took out a jar of instant coffee from the cupboard.

"I only have bread and coffee right now. I still haven't gone grocery shopping yet" Jennie turned to Jisoo who was now comfortably leaning against the doorway, "Will that be alright?"

Jisoo looked at her with confusion, is she really asking her about what she wanted to eat for breakfast?

"Sorry but are you talking to me about breakfast?"

Jennie nodded and waited for Jisoo to answer her

Jisoo shrugged, "I don't know? I don't eat breakfast."

"You don't? Well, you should. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so you shouldn't skip it"

Jennie then went to her refrigerator and took out an item while Jisoo followed her with her eyes as she made her way to her.

"At least eat a protein bar" Jennie offered the protein bar to Jisoo

Jisoo looked at the sad-looking protein bar then back at Jennie, "Thanks but what I meant is that I don't eat breakfast because I don't need to. And that protein bar does not look good at all"

"You don't? Why? You're still human, aren't you?" Jennie reasoned and continued to offer the protein bar

Jisoo sighed, "I may look human but I'm really not. Like I said I'm an immortal genie hence I don't feel hunger and thirst because I won't die from starvation and dehydration." Jisoo's expressionless lips slowly turned into a grin, "But if you wish for me to eat that protein bar, I'll gladly do it. Just say so."

"Fiction stories weren't kidding when they said genies can be a bit trickster-y" Jennie smirked and pulled away the protein bar

Jisoo looked at Jennie with a raised-brow and a mildly impressed expression as Jennie replied with a confidently smug smile

The staring contest between the women were cut short when the toaster popped out two perfectly toasted bread which Jennie carefully took and placed on a small plate.

"You can watch me eat then" Jennie sat at the table bringing along her plate of toast and her hot mug of instant coffee.

Jisoo sat across the table, arms crossed, looking at Jennie as she took a bite and drank her beverage.

"When I said you can watch me eat, I didn't mean that you could stare at me like you're contemplating life"

"What do you want me to do then?"

"Well, if I were to tell someone the things I want then I want to get to know them first. So, tell me something about yourself"

Jisoo looked at Jennie, honestly surprised at this girl's attitude. First it's asking her what she wants to eat and now this, genuinely wanting to know things about her. It's been a really long while since a master actually cared about her well-being and her thoughts.
