(I'M BACK BABY! Sorry it took so long to get this out. I know I Know it's been over a year but I had a lot of things I was going through as well as a computer breakage. Now I'm kind of glad for taking so long since there's going to be a DLC for it. Don't know how I'm going to make an ending for Kuai Liang when Harumi exists. Anyway! It'll be a while before chapter 2 comes out since I haven't started it. That being said I hope you enjoy the chapter)

The scene shows a wooden panel with the carving of a snake in a circle in it and a few other designs around it "My friends, your patience is about to be rewarded. For I saved the best for last" A voice can be heard from behind, what is now revealed to be, a cart as the camera pans slowly to reveal a group of people of various genders crowding around an old man dressed in yellow and dark yellow robes, his hair and beard both long and grey along with his cart filled with 'medicines' and a wind chime made of bones "I have recently discovered a cure-all of unrivaled potency. It will soon be on the shelves in every home of Outworld. This elixir is crafted from an ancient recipe. It has Patreon flowers. Margovian nectar. Powdered teeth of an Arctikan dragon. All this and more, infused with powerful Lekorian magic" HE said as the crowd looked at the bottle he held in awe and hope. He gestures towards the mountains "There is a village, in the next canton ever, where everyone has purchased this miracle cure. Overnight, all diseases, even Tarkat, have disappeared" The crowd whispers and murmurs in surprise and amazement "Now magic this potent is expensive. And I am sure you're asking yourselves: can I afford it? But the true question you must ask is: can I afford to be without it?" He asks smiling

"You lie, Shang Tsung! Your cures are useless!"

Shang Tsung's smile left his face as the crowd parts to face the voice that spoke out. A man steps forward, his eyes so tired looking and broken, as he glared at him "I'm sorry. You are?" "Someone fool enough to have believed you. My daughter was dying when you came to my farm. You promised a miracle and I gave you all I had. But only days later...she was dead" The grieving father revealed making the crowd gasp and murmur. Shang Tsung laughed with a tinge of nervousness "That is impossible. My magic could not have failed her" He tried to reassure the crowd only angering the father further "THERE WAS NO MAGIC!" The man bellows "I took your elixir to an imperial mage and you know what she said?" He snatches the medicine bottle out of Shang Tsung's hands and smashes it on the ground, shattering the glass "It's nothing. Just borjang tea!" "The mage is mistaken, kind sir. My elixirs are of superior quality. Their efficacy is guaranteed" Shang Tsung stammered as the crowd, enraged not only by him trying to swindle them of what little money they had but to scam a man who was desperate to save his daughter. The man grabs him by his clothes and throws him to the ground. The enraged crowd closed in on him.

The scene changes to the dark of night at the opening of the carriage in the pelting rain where the old man sits on the steps with a medium size box before opening it. the camera pans down to the mud where a long white wig fell to the ground and grunting can be heard before the camera shows that Shang Tsung was in fact a young man. His face bruised and scuffed "It is an excellent ruse, your disguise" Shang Tsung turns his head to face a woman hidden mostly by the darkness her piercing blue eyes staring into him.

"Backwater folk are far more likely to trust a kindly old man" The mysterious woman stated in a kindly voice "Here on behalf of a dissatisfied customer? If it's revenge you want, have at it. If it's restitution... there's nothing left." He said bitterly.

"What I want, Shang Tsung, is to elevate you. To make you the great sorcerer that now you can only pretend to be with a bride worthy of you" She said stepping closer. Shang Tsung interest peaked by her offer "A generous offer. Why me?" Shang Tsung questioned skeptically "You are uniquely resilient. Who else could eke out a living travelling Outworld's hinterlands, selling quack cures and fake magic?" She says
