Before he managed Elvis Presley, he also exploited and manipulated other artists for his own money. In 1938, Gene Austin was totally angry when he found out that Colonel Tom Parker stole his money. Colonel Tom Parker lied to Gene that if he trusted him, he would give him many materials; he didn't allow Gene Davis to tour overseas. This completely angered Gene Davis and made him feel so uncomfortable. He even told Colonel Tom Parker and said, "WELL, if you don't have a passport, you are a fake manager. How can you promote other artists without allowing them to tour overseas?" after Gene Austin. He also promoted other artists such as Eddy Arnold's, Tommy Sands,  Hank Snows, and Colonel Tom Parker. Had abused those artists and mistreated them, Gene Austin was angered by Colonel's attitudes, when Gene was confronted the colonel for not allowing him to achieve his own success, and he not allowing him to tour overseas and the colonel bullied gene Austin by stealing his own money in his bank accounts, he never cared about the artists and he was a fake promoters who only cared about money, and even mistreated his own artists who he promoted and exploited, he scammed Hank Snow by telling him that if he trust him and allow him to promote hlm he will give him good material, good songs, but Hank Snow never got a good career because of the colonel's own pressure, He was not a good manager, but if he were this good manager, he wouldn't mistreat his own artists, it's sad that these artists had allowed him to promote them after Lying to them about his own identity and where he is from, Eddy Arnold's was abused by the colonel after he found out that the colonel tom Parker stole his own Money from his bank accounts and his life were ruined and was Exploited and Manipulated,
