Cynthia
I grabbed my keys off the kitchen counter and made my way to the car park. The chilly air felt refreshing after a week of intense heat. I dug through my bag and pulled out a pair of oversized sunglasses, relieved that the sun wouldn't be blinding me on the drive. Pulling into the mall parking lot, I found our usual meet-up spot: a quaint coffee shop tucked away in the bustling mall.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee hits my nose as soon as I walk in. The rich, warm scent of roasted beans fills the air, bringing a sense of comfort and familiarity.
I scanned the crowd, my eyes landed on a familiar figure in the corner. Rachel sat at a small table, her vibrant red hair pulled back in a messy bun, sipping on a steaming cup of coffee. Her skin glowed in the fluorescent lights and her emerald green eyes darted around the room, searching for me. As soon as she spotted me, she broke into a wide smile and waved excitedly. We met in the middle of the busy cafe, hugging tightly and exchanging kisses on each cheek.
Rachel's face lit up as she said, 'It's been way too long! I've missed you so much, you have no idea.'
'I know, I can't believe it's been this long. Your energy was always contagious.' I exclaimed.
'Is there room for two?' Grace and Lolita entered the room, both stunning beauties in their own right. They greeted each other with hugs and giggles, catching up on their latest adventures. As Grace showed off a new dance move she learned, we all laughed knowing that dancing wasn't her strong suit.
'Is Chloe running late as usual?' Rachel asked.
'No need to call or text her, she just messaged me saying she's pulling into the parking lot now,' I replied.
'Ohh, spill the tea! Who's this hot guy you snagged a date with?' Lolita teased.
'I never said he was hot, it's a blind date but let's hope for her sake he is,' Rachel interjected with a mischievous grin.
Cynthia spilled the tea about her blind date that Derek and his partner set her up with. Apparently, he's the whole package and they already did some background check on him. According to them, "he's totally your type." Grace asked where they were going and Rachel excitedly answered, 'It's this fancy new restaurant called Tiaga owned by Brett Hill, the billionaire playboy philanthropist. All the A-listers love it!'
No one was surprised that Rachel had done her research on the place. If she had known Cynthia's date's name, she would have dug up every detail during their phone call.
Grace then remembered hearing about a family in Sicaria who practically own half of everything there, including real estate, restaurants, rental homes, bars, and nightclubs. Rachel confirmed that it was indeed the same guy whose family ranked sixth in Forbes' list of richest families in Sicaria. They practically owned a third of the entire area.
'Nice of you all to save me a seat' Chloe said surprising them. They all looked at her stunned and got up to give her a hug and later returning to their seats, they all filled her in on their previous conversation. We headed out to the first shop to find an outfit for my date.
'Do you know what style you're going for? Chloe asked.
'I have no idea, when it comes to this type of thing, I'm clueless' Cynthia replied, rummaging through a clothes rack.
'Chloe, I think you need to take charge in this, considering you work in the fashion industry. You'll know all the top trends and what outfits are best to show off Cynthia's gorgeous figure,' Rachel said.
She was always one for taking action and using people's strengths, this is why she was one of the best lawyers at Crawford Law, never one for taking shit from anyone and not one to be shy from confrontation.
