Jeonghan swam back to the castle. He tried his best to sneak around the royal guards and servants, hoping that he could just get to his room in peace.

Unfortunately for him, he was caught by his father. His heart rate picked up as he saw the disapproving expression on his father's face as he stood in front of his room.

Before he could day anything, Jeonghan was interrupted by his father. "Dont start with me. I'm very disappointed in you, Jeonghan." He sighed, pinching his nosebridge in annoyance. "You made your brother distract me, so you could swim off... Why? What was so damn heinous that I couldn't know about it?" He crossed his arms as he stared him down.

Jeonghan looked down at his hands, gently caressesing the watch. For some reason, his brain wasn't coming up with an excuse fast enough, so he reply.

"We're you sneaking off with a girl?"

Jeonghan's eyes widened at the speculation, his head shot up. "No! You know I have no interest in women, father..." The king sighed and looked at him with defeat in his eyes.

"So? What was it? You never sneak off... You're usually in your room or pranking the guards of something."

"I just wasn't feeling well, ok? I went for a quick swim.. It was outside the castle so I didn't know if you were gonna be mad or not." He lied, looking back at the watch as he fiddled with it.

He didn't want to take the chance of never seeing Seungcheol again. He couldn't bare to be confined to the kingdom anymore.

The king pulled Jeonghan into a tight hug. "I know you're lying, son. I don't know why, but I know you are. I don't know why you don't want to talk to me about it, but I won't push you. Go get some rest and please be ready for dinner tonight."

Jeonghan isn't a fan of their family dinners, especially when his father's friends join them. They always ask him the weirdest questions that make him uncomfortable.

Whenever he would try and voice how uncomfortable he feels, no one ever seems to stand up for him. His father usually laughs it off as if they were telling a joke.

He wants to pretend that it doesn't matter or bother him, but it does, especially when they ask about his relationship status. They never ask his Seungkwan about those things. They never ask about how things are going with his relationship. Whether it's going well or if he's been caught swimming off with his boyfriend again. They don't care about those two- it's always about him. He's always the center of conversation.

After Jeonghan and his father pull away from their hug and say their goodbye, Jeonghan goes to his room and lays down in his bed. He starts fiddling with the watch once again; thinking about that gorgeous human that he saved.

He felt like he was seeing a different world. He felt alive and oh so rebellious. Not only did he save a human- he brought him into the castle- into his room and onto his bed- and took him back to the shore, behind everyone's back.

Is he heir to the throne? Yes.

Does he want to be? No.

He thinks that his brother would do a better job anyway; he's more responsible, more liked, and he's already in a relationship with someone who is also very well liked and somewhat responsible.

The two of them were perfect for each other and they don't seem to have any visible flaws to them while he thinks he does.

Jeonghan doesn't want to take on such a huge responsibility. And if he doesn't want it, then why would he put the innocent citizens of the kingdom in his hands?

That would make him even more responsible.

He doesn't know what he's doing- he doesn't know what he's gonna be wearing for the dinner. Is he going wear his pearls or the seashells?

Why would the future of his kingdom being his hands?

He loves the lavish lifestyle of living in the castle, and being a prince, but being the heir is a whole different level of stress.

He has no care for that life. He wants to explore and not be confined to the castle just as he is now.

As Jeonghan's mind races, he tries himself out, slowly closing his eyes. The image of Seungcheol in his head as he subconsciously smiles.
