We arrived at my house just as the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the yard. The silence inside the house was a welcome change from the buzz of school. I kicked off my shoes and hung up my jacket, feeling a sense of calm settle in.

"Make yourself at home," I said, turning to Atsumu as he followed me in.

"Thanks," he replied, slipping off his shoes and looking around with interest.

I headed to the kitchen to get us something to drink. I pulled out a couple of sodas and poured them into glasses, the soft clink of ice against glass filling the quiet. Atsumu wandered into the kitchen, watching me with a relaxed smile.

"So, what's the plan?" he asked, leaning against the counter.

I shrugged, handing him a glass. "We could just hang out and chat for a bit. Suzuki won't be home for a while, so it's just us."

"Sounds good to me," he said, taking a sip.

We settled into the living room, talking about everything from school projects to weekend plans. The conversation flowed easily, and the atmosphere felt comfortable. Just as I was starting to forget about the tension of the day, the sound of the front door opening and closing caught my attention.

"Oh no," I said, looking at Atsumu. "I forgot that Mom was picking up Suzuki today."

Before I could move, the door to the living room opened, and our mother walked in, followed by Suzuki, who was chattering excitedly about her day at kindergarten.

"Hey, darling, sorry for not being home," Mom said, looking up and spotting Atsumu. "Oh, you've got company."

"Hi," Atsumu replied, standing up. "Nice to meet you."

Mom gave a polite smile and led Suzuki over to where we were sitting. "Suzuki was so excited to tell you all about her day."

Suzuki looked up at Atsumu with wide eyes. "Tsumu!!" It was adorable how she called him.

"Hey, Suzuki, how are you?" he greeted her which made me smile. I loved how good he handled my sister.

I was glad that mom came home, I was glad to see she was having a happy look on her face, not her usual tired, drunk one. She pulled me in a hug, mumbling her sorry into my hair.

"It's fine mom, really," I whispered and hugged her back. She loosened her hug and looked between Atsumu and me with a confused look.

"That's Atsumu, I told you about him." I explained with slightly red cheeks. She grinned, seeming to remember my crush on him.

"Kids, I'll be preparing some dinner yeah?"

I led him up to my space. As we settled into my room, the conversation flowed easily. Atsumu sprawled comfortably on the bed while I sat cross-legged on a chair, the two of us chatting about school, his practice, and weekend plans.

"So, you think you're ready for the exams?" Atsumu asked, a playful grin on his face.

I laughed and shook my head. "I'm trying to be. But honestly, with everything going on, it's hard to focus."

Atsumu chuckled, resting his arms behind his head. "Yeah, tell me about it. Practice has been non-stop lately. Feels like I don't have time for anything else."

"Well, at least you're here now," I said, offering a teasing smile. "How's that for a break?"

"Not bad," he replied, giving me a relaxed smile. "You're not that bad to hang out with."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't hide my smile. "Thanks, I guess."

The conversation drifted from school and sports to more casual topics, and time passed quickly. At some point, I got up to grab us some snacks from the kitchen. As I returned, Atsumu was flipping through a few things on my desk, commenting on a photo or a notebook he found interesting. The easy banter continued as we both settled back down on the bed, now with snacks in hand.
