AMAR'S POV:
As Amar followed Justin inside the building, he made sure to look around. Many different people were here, some he even knew back from elementary. It made him nervous. He didn't know what to think of this school. He heard of its reputation, known for annoying teachers and students. He looked back at his schedule. His first class was English. He suddenly stopped feeling so nervous. He remembered Justin mentioning that they had English together. It brought him some comfort to know he wouldn't be so alone during his first block. Justin looks back at Amar to see him stop in his tracks. "You good?" Justin asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's keep walking." Amar replied. Justin started walking again with Amar following close behind since it was his first time at this school. Eventually, they make it to their class and walk in together. They sit down as Justin gets a few stares from the kids. Probably because they don't want him in this class because he is a "troublemaker," but that might change.
Justin and Amar sit down next to each other in the back of the class since the desks are combined in twos. They set their things down, and the bell rings signaling to get to class, but they are already in class, so they're fine. Amar looks over at Justin to see him on his phone playing a game. "What are you playing?" Amar asks. "Oh, I'm just playing a stupid game. You can join me if you want." Amar takes the offer, and they start to play together on Justin's phones. They get some stares because the students know that Justin isn't this nice. The teacher walks into the classroom, and Justin puts his phone away. "I see some new faces this year." The teacher says. "Well, I just would like to let you guys know that there will be assigned seats later this week." The class groans as the teacher says that.
Class starts, and Justin is already getting bored. He decides to rest his head on the desk, hoping for English to finish. It's his least favorite class, after all. Amar glances over at Justin to see his head is down. Justin feels the glance and looks up to see Amar looking at him. As soon as Amar sees Justin looking up at him, he immediately looks away, embarrassed. Justin smirks a little but rests his head back down on the desk.
The bell suddenly rang, its annoying, yet familiar sound buzzed through Justin and woke him up. He looked around. Amar glanced at him and smirked. "Dude, You know you were asleep, like the whole class, right?" Justin widened his eyes a bit yet a small smile tugged at his mouth. "Haha...yeah. I'm known to do that." He got his things packed up as Amar did as well. Amar glanced at Justin. Justin looked at him. "What class you got?" Amar looked at his schedule. "Math. It's Ms. Wiltaker." Justin sighed* "I have math as well, just not the same teacher. We can still walk together though." *Amar smiled at the thought. For some reason, he
wanted to let everyone know that they were friends. Shout it out to the whole school. Of course, never in a million years would he do that. They both set out for their next class. Amar waved to Justin as he went into a class. Amar frowned as soon as he was gone. Feeling lonely. He sighed and slowly walked into his class. The teacher was a thin, frail-looking woman who had long blonde hair and glasses. She had that type of smirk that normal teachers would put on at the beginning of the school year, only to switch up after the first 3 weeks. Amar sat down on a table. He took his laptop out. A few minutes later, a group of kids came in. They sat by him. One of them was talking to his friends and kept glancing at Amar. He then suddenly turned to him. "Hey, man! What's your name?" The boy said. He was a white kid. Thin, and brown eyes with a matching brown hair color. Amar smiled "Hi. I'm Amar. I'm new. I've never been here before." He said quietly but enough to where they could hear. The kids smiled and greeted him. "Hey Amar. I'm Kevin. This is James, Erick, and David." Amar smiled and waved at them. Throughout the entire block, he talked and laughed with his new friends. The thoughts of Justin fade away temporarily.
