Chapter 22 : Quick podium

(Carlos' POV)

As I got out the car, I noticed it was again Lando, Charles and I in the top three. I was amazed how from just the second race, we completely took over last year's RedBull domination and it was now both Ferrari and McLaren fighting for it all.

Come to think of it, I still had no idea for next year. I was leaving Ferrari since Lewis Hamilton has taken my place. I knew the team always does stuff for the better but it still hurts. Knowing last year I was the only non-RedBull winner at Singapore, and now I was being switched out for the 7 time world champion. I knew Lewis was going to help the team so of course I was happy for them. But I knew, deep down, that Charles will miss me, so will the team.

I had a feeling of trying out for Mercedes since now there was one seat open but I knew that if that doesn't work out, my only option would be Williams. Honestly, it would be crazy news for everyone. They would consider it a downgrade but I have a feeling that in these years, Williams will rise slowly to the top 5 teams again. Like it used to be.

I high-fived Lando and Charles as they called Charles for the quick interview as I talked to Lando. I caught sight of Leah as i told him our girls were there looking at us. We both went near them as we hugged them and kissed them. "Well done, my lovely." Leah told me as I replied instantly, " Thank you, carinõ. Tomorrow, I will get my real podium and a very good night." I said as I winked. She was so shocked, I had to laugh. I noticed that the interviewer was waving towards me, meaning it was my turn.

I instantly told Leah that I needed to go as I ran to the tall man. "Wonderful performance out there today Carlos! Tell us how you felt?" he told me as I smiled and gave in a gentle sigh. "Well, the pace is awesome like always, the car isn't bouncing at all and I'm amazed at how comfortable the car is this year which really is helped us." I replied as I looked over at Leah. The interviewer instantly responded with another question, "That is amazing, how about the McLarens? They might be dominating this race which is amazing." "Not amazing for us, of course but yeah, we all get a turn at winning I guess!" I replied as he chuckled to my response. "Wonderful! thank you Carlos." he told me as I walked back to talk to my engineers.

  After they finished the interview, we went to take the photo and we went back to the paddock garage as I went to my room to get dressed. I instantly heard someone knock as I opened the door at my surprise.
