The day Prince Lucian arrived in Cruizar was the day that his life would change forever.

The 22-year-old royal was sent to the kingdom of Cruizar as a bachelor for the Golden Prince's younger sister, Princess Cerise. His kingdom, Lazure, was desperate to form an alliance with one of the neighbouring kingdoms due to its depleting economy.

Prince Lucian got off his white, majestic horse as its mane flowed in the gentle breeze. His silver tresses that were streaked with light blue were tied into a ponytail that rid the motion of the wind. His piercingly sharp, icy blue gaze was fixed on the castle he was standing before, admiring its honour and glory.

Holding the thick ring of iron on the castle doors, he slammed it against them and created an echoed knock.

"I, Prince Lucian of Lazure, have come for Princess Cerise of Cruizar," Prince Lucian announced with the loudest voice he could project.

As he waited to be allowed in, Prince Lucian sensed that someone was watching him closely, so he turned his head in multiple directions in order to cease his uneasiness. That's when he saw him.

It was Prince Cairo, the Golden Prince himself, perched at the balcony of the grand castle as he was looking down at Prince Lucian. The 23-year-old royal was famous in all the land due to his superb combat skills while the women fawned over his looks. He was unable to tear his eyes off of his sister's new suitor and was curious to see whether she would actually settle for him or refuse him like the rest of the bachelors that had come to visit. Moreover, he had heard many things about Prince Lucian and was intrigued by him.

But before Prince Cairo knew it, the doors of the castle consumed Prince Lucian, making a housekeeper to scramble to the balcony to call for the former's presence down in the royal court hall.

Prince Cairo hurried down from his balcony and through the royal court halls; his heart racing, his breath quickening. What was he doing? He was a prince and a knight, he was supposed to be stoic and composed, not flitting around like some devotee.

"Get a hold of yourself...Prince Lucian cannot be all that impressive..." he tried to tell himself, but as soon as he glanced down at the northern prince that stood proudly before his sister, he let out a sigh.

Damn.
