The Reunion

On our way back to Forks, I start to feel kind of anxious. I haven't been around my family in about a year. Jasper has been catching me up on how exactly this testimony thing is going to work. He said that I wasn't the only person they went to ask for help from. They also asked the Denali, Irish, Amazon, Romanian, French, and Egyptian covens, as well as the Black pack. I didn't really know how to feel finding out that they asked my family to give their testimonies. I felt happy that I would be reunited with them once again, but I also couldn't help but think of the danger they'd be in if Aro finds out that they lied to keep us safe. I do miss my Benjamin, though. I haven't had contact with him in years.

When we made it to the house, it was around 3pm. There were already a few people there. Some that I recognized, others I didn't. "You can go on insi-", Jasper starts before getting interrupted by a loud squeal. We both turn to see Alice running to us. "My dear little sister has returned home!", she says, running up to me and squeezing me tightly. "Hi, Alice! I've missed you so much!", I say, returning the hug. Jasper clears his throat and looks expectantly. "Oh, my love! I didn't forget about you.", she says, rolling her eyes playfully. She releases me and skips over to him and plants a kiss on his cheek. "Let's go, Cara! The others are dying to see you.", Alice says and drags me into the house.

As we make our way to the second level, I start to wonder who's already here. Alice leads me into the living room similar to when Carlisle led me back after reading the letter from my parents in Cairo. "Guys! She's here!", Alice calls through the house as we make it to the living room. Bella and Edward are sitting on the couch talking to a little girl, Esme and Carlisle are fixing something in the kitchen, Emmett and Rose are sitting on the opposite couch listening to Bella and Edward's conversation, and Jacob had entered the room and stood awfully close to the child as we came in.

Emmett was the first to greet me. He jumped up from the couch and ran over to me with wide arms. When he reached me, he wrapped his large arms around me, squishing my body. "Baby sis! Gosh, I've missed you. You look good, healthy.", he said as he squeezed me and pulled back to give me a once over. "Hi, Em. I've missed you more! You don't look so bad yourself, big brother.", I say smiling. He ruffles my hair and steps aside so the others could greet me.

Carlisle and Esme greeted me next. "Cara! It's so good to see you, my dear. You have been missed.", Carlisle says as he wraps me in an endearing hug. "Hi, Carli. I've missed you so much. I have so much to tell you about my job!", I say, hugging him back tightly. "Do you now? We'll talk later.", Carlisle says with a wink. Esme comes up behind him and smiles at me. "It's nice to have you back, dear.", she says and gives me a short, tight hug.

"Sister.", Rose greets me with a smile as she rises and walks over. "Hi, Rose!", I say as I meet her halfway and hug her tightly. "I've missed you too, sweetheart.", she says, smiling big as she hugs me back. "Emmett here wouldn't shut up about how boring it was to not have his little best friend with him.", she teases and goes to join him. The last four people now have my attention.

Bella and Edward stand up and walk over to me with smiles. "Hey, Cara. It's been a while, huh?", Bella says and gives me a hug. "It has. Especially since we've only met twice. Congrats on the upgrade.", I joke and hug her back. She laughs then says thank you and steps back as Edward walks up and wraps his arms around me. "Hi, Eddy.", I say and hug him back tightly. "I've missed you, Cara.", he says, frowning and then smiling as put his hands on my upper arms and gives me a once over. "You've been busy, I see.", I say and gesture behind him. Bella kneels in front of the child. "There's someone I want you to meet. She's your father's sister. She's family.", she says and looks at me and Edward as she stands up.

They both move out of the way as I walk up to the child. Before I can even get to her, Jacob steps in front of her and looks at me. I raise my eyebrow and look at the couple then at Emmett. He'd moved closer to us now leaning up against the closest wall. "Jake, stop it. She's not going to hurt her.", Bella said, annoyed. I held up my hands with a warm smile. "I am of no harm to anyone, wolf.", I said and tilted my head, looking at him. He scoffed and glared at me. "You smell like one yourself.", he said curiously. "I have my secrets." I say smirking. He hummed and looked at me a few seconds longer before moving out of the way.

The child looked up at me and smiled. "Hi. I'm Renesmee.", she said as I walked up to her and kneeled. "Hi, pretty girl. My name is Cara. I'm your aunt.", I said and looked her over. She raised her hand to my face and I slightly flinched but regained myself. "What are you doing?", I asked curiously. "She can show you how she was born. That she is human.", Edward said. "Oh?", I say as we look into each other's eyes. I nodded at her to continue and she placed her hand on my cheek. I saw Bella and Edward on their honeymoon. I saw Bella pregnant a few days into it. I saw the pain Bella endured. I saw Bella give birth and die seconds afterwards. I saw Edward frantically biting her to try to wake her up. Lastly, I saw how she'd been growing, how she ate human food, and how she was alive.

Afterwards, I looked back at her and smiled. "Wanna see something cool?", I asked in a whisper. When she nodded her head, I took her hand in mine and showed her the memory of when I met the Cullens. How they took me in and cared for me when I stayed with them. Once the memory was over, I stood up. "Watch.", I said as I raised my hands. I began to lift Jacob up from the end of the couch and into the air. He was extremely startled. "What the-", he said as he floated around the room. Renesmee giggles as she watches her protector struggle to find his balance. After stressing him out a little more, I gently sat him down. She clapped and asked me to do it again. I laughed. "I don't think he'll be too happy about that, honey.", I said with a wink.

A few hours later more people had came. We all walked outside as the Romanian coven came and then the Amazon coven. Zafrina, Senna, and I have a history. I spent some time there in hiding as an escape from my overbearing family in Forks.

After they greeted and introduced themselves to the rest, they walked over to me. I was playing with Renesmee's hair and loosely braiding it. I looked up as they approached. "Cara.", Zafrina said and they both nodded. "Zafrina. Senna. It's always a pleasure to see you again! I hope you both have been well.", I say as I smile. "You're out of hiding? Will you be in danger here?", Senna asked worriedly. I smiled. "I'm not sure. I'll take that chance for my family.", I finished right as more people came.

"Amun! Kebi! Thank you for coming all this way for us.", I heard Carlisle say. I perked up at the sound of their names. "Pa?", I say and led Renesmee back to her parents before running to my own. I ran and hugged them tightly, squeezing my eyes shut as I took in their scent. We didn't say anything for a minute. We just stood there and enjoyed each other's embrace. Amun was the first to speak.

"You look well, my dear. We have missed you everyday. I am overjoyed to see you!", he said as he cupped my face with both of his hands. I smiled. "I've missed you so much more, Pa.", I say as I put my hands over his. "Oh, he was worried sick about you every passing day! I did not hear the last of it from your father! As if Tia didn't check on you and give us updates!", she says and playfully scoffs then takes my hands with a smile. "I'm glad to see you again, dear.", she says and squeezes my hands. "I'm glad to see you too, Kebi. I have missed you.", I say before hearing more footsteps.

"Well, now that that's over. Hi, my little Nour!", Tia says as I pull away from our parents to look at her. "Tia! Oh, my gosh!", I say and step into her arms. We squeeze each other tightly and look each other in the eyes. "I brought you a present, my sweet Cara.", she says with a smile. I tilt my head confused as she steps aside. I gasped.

It was my Benjamin. My lover. The other half of my heart.

I just stood there and stared at him in shock. He smiled gently and walked up to me. "Hello, sweet girl.", he said. 

This can't be real.
