My Benjamin

**Disclaimer: New writing format! I felt like the previous one was too cluttered.**

I was too stunned to do anything. I wanted to cry, scream, jump, run, and all the above. I couldn't fathom having him back. All those lonely months I thought of his touch, of his love. As he reached me, he gently wrapped his arms around me and pulled me flush against his chest.

"Benj.", I said, burying my face into his chest.

"I know. I've missed you too, my love.", he said, kissing my head.

"I'm so happy to be with you again. It's been so long.", I say, hugging him tighter.

"Too long, and it'll never happen again. I promise I won't leave your side for the rest of my life.", he says, pulling back to look at my face.

"I love you.", I said, looking into his eyes.

"I love you more.", he responded, pulling me back into his chest.

"Not possible.", I say, quietly.

"Aw. The lovebirds are reunited! I'm so happy.", Alice says, clapping and jumping up and down.

"Thank you, Alice. It's nice to see you again.", Benjamin said, looking over at her and smelling my hair, causing her to smile at us.

A couple hours later when all the covens were here, we had a meeting in the living room. Carlisle and Edward mapped out the plan and answered any questions anyone had. My family was sitting close by, listening to the plan. We'd leave soon and need our strength so Carlisle told everyone where they could and couldn't hunt. Everyone left to hunt except for me. It was easy for me to keep myself fed while in Europe. I worked at a hospital that had blood drives 2-3 times a month. I stayed strong and well fed.

I didn't want to go hunting because I'm not a hunter. I'm more of a blood in a cup kind of girl. Carlisle had filled up a styrofoam cup for me before he left, just in case I changed my mind. I offered to stay for the other reason of babysitting Renesmee. Of course, Benjamin wanted to stay, but we all told him it was best if he gained all his strength. Jacob offered to stay as well, but his pack needed him. Renesmee and I had the house all to ourselves.

"So, dear niece. Do you like to color?", I asked as I closed the door behind everyone.

"Yes.", she said, skipping up the stairs.

"Ok! Let's have some fun.", I said, laughing as we got out all the supplies.

We spent the majority of the night coloring, dancing, baking, and watching movies. I fixed her some dinner and gave her a piece of the brownies we had made. We watched one last movie before it was time for bed. She was already asleep by the time the movie was over, so I gently picked her up and took her to her room. After tucking her in, I turned off the lights and closed the door. Heading back to the living room, I cleaned up everything and put her food up. By the time my family came back, it was almost midnight.

"Cara?", Benjamin called.

"Yes, my love? I'm in here.", I said, getting up from the couch.

Everyone greeted me as they came up the stairs. Amun, Kebi, and Tia shared a room. The Cullens went to their respective rooms, and Benjamin and I went to mine.

"How was babysitting duty?", he asked once we made it to my room.

"We had a lot of fun. I think I'm her new favorite.", I said, smiling as I sat on the bed.

"How fitting.", he said, smiling at me and pulling me to lay on the bed with him.

"How do you feel about testifying? Aro doesn't know who we are.", I said, resting my head on his chest.
