Luella shivered slightly as she walked into the Great Hall, it was always so cold for no reason- well at least to her it was. But despite anything else she was glad to be home, she was glad to be somewhere that she knew was secure. Security or warmth wasn't something a person would be able to find at the Rosier estate.
She, Xyrene, and Dahlia were a bit late because they became so engrossed in a highly disgusting game of Bean Boozled. How in the world was someone able to come up with such foul flavors like dirty diapers and boogers? They were so focused they forgot to change into their robes and had to collect their things in a hurry.
A group of kids had taken their usual seats at the end of the table so Luella had no choice but to take the last remaining seats. The seats next to Harry and his little gaggle, which consisted of Valentina, Hermione, Ron, Zion and some other kids she didn't know. Tragic, right? She sat down stiffly next to him as if it pained her, while desperately trying to avoid eye contact.
"Huh, I never thought you would ever sit next to me willingly Lue'", he leaned in and whispered seriously, "Are you being threatened right now, you're looking a bit disheveled?" He wasn't lying, her clothes were pretty messy since she had to get dressed in a rush.
"No, Potter, I am not not being threatened. There was just nowhere else to sit." she rolled her eyes, "Plus my clothes are only messy because I had to change quickly."
"Hm, whatever you want to tell yourself, Lue'," he said teasingly while shrugging.
Luella just summoned up her best glare and looked across the table to Dahlia, desperately wanting to get out of this conversation. However, was deeply engrossed in a conversation with a beautiful girl with long black hair and grey eyes.
Luella believed her name was Valentina Lupin-Black. She was really cool, like a rockstar's girlfriend. Luella had always admired her shameless confidence and her ability to do anything she wanted. She had never talked to the 4th year, only awkward eye contact when Luella would catch her staring at her.
Seeing she wasn't going to get a conversation out of Dahlia she turned to Xyrene, "Did you finish Pride and Prejudice yet?" The two girls had agreed to read the book over the summer and fangirl over it when they got back.
Dahlia's face lit up at the mention of the book, "I finished it about a week ago! I think it's my favorite classic romance book."
"Same, it didn't even feel like a romance," Luella agreed and reached into the pocket in her robe where a book would usually be situated. Only, there was no book and Luella felt her heart drop to her stomach.
She looked up at Dahlia with wide eyes, her voice shaking a little, "I don't have the book 'lia."
"Oh, that's okay you can just get another one," Dahlia emphasized, "The library probably has plenty-"
