(Islam teaches Muslims to greet each other)Two Somali boys were splashing each other at the beach after they prayed a noon prayer with their father in the mosque. They weren't like other boys their age who wanted to either join the Sultan's army, be fishermen or be religious scholars, but these two had their own shared dream. To be a captain and a swordsman.
"Ali, wait a minute," Adam said
Ali stopped splashing his twin brother.
"What's wrong?" Ali asked
"Listen closely, because I saw a dream last-"
"Me-"
Both twins hugged each other, overjoyed.
"You start first, Ali-"
"No you, Adam-"
"OK, I saw a man who looked like a captain of his own ship and he gave me his hand, then I took it," Adam replied.
"Mine was the same as yours but with a different man-"
Adam looked at his brother confused, but let him continue.
"This man was practising self-defence with a sword made of steel. He didn't give me his hand, instead he said to me "I'll be your headmaster so meet me in Japan." Ali said.
"Haye, let's clean ourselves up then ask Aabbo to interpret our shared dream for us." Ali said with excitement.
Adam nodded.
Both boys returned back to their parent's house and changed into their Dugsi clothes as their father is a Quran scholar, teaching them to memorise the Quran, Islamic sciences but their parents are poor and didn't have enough money to put their sons into scholarly schools. So their parents decided to educate them in their house.
"Asalaam alaikum my sons," Abbo said
"Walikum salaam, Aabbo," they replied
"Where's hoyyo?" Adam asked
Their father replied with a sad tone, squatting at their heights.
"Hoyyo passed away this morning and don't worry, we will see her in the next life," their father replied
Ali and Adam changed the subject.
"Abbo, can you interpret our shared dream?" They asked
"Listen carefully to your interpretations, haye?" Their father commanded
"Adam, your dream means you'll learn under someone who will teach you how to become a captain and for you Ali, you will travel on a ship to another country called Japan, to learn under a headmaster," Their father said
"Do you have any advice for us, Abbo?" They asked
"Yes, never separate from each other, you need each other always. The way I interpreted your shared dream, it will inshallah happen. Also, convey Islam to anyone you come across-"
"We don't like preaching, that's old," Ali pouted
"You can convey Islam through your good actions and good character that will bring people into Islam." Their father explained to them.
The twins had stars in their eyes then they fell into a deep sleep.
