Isiah Micah Wyatt
What the hell. I would scream that at the person currently shaking me awake on a Saturday but somehow, the words just cannot leave my mouth.
"Isiah! Come on!" Oh. It was Juls. I gathered the little strength I had in my semi-conscious self to lift my eyelids.
I let a soft groan escape my mouth as I finally get my eyes to open. "What time is it..." I didn't bother asking why she was here. I didn't really care. No complains if it came to Juls. None at all. At least, I don't remember ever complaining about her.
Wait, what time was it? Sure I hated waking up early, but I am just now noticing that there is no ray of sunshine blinding me. "Juls." I start. "What time is it."
Juls gives me a sheepish smile. "4:05 AM." What. She woke me up... at 4:05 AM. AM. Who the hell is awake at this hour? Other than the people who stay up late. Actually, let me rephrase it more clearly. WHO WAKES UP AT THIS HOUR?
I groan. As much as I love Juls, why would she do this to me. I hate waking up in the morning, and now she woke me up before the sun even had a chance to rise. "Why would you wake me up at 4:05 AM? As much as I love you, Juls, this is insane."
"I heard someone from the Rival school bragging about how nice their retreat was because they all got the chance to watch the sunrises." she says. Oh, yeah. That was the one with the insane overachieving couple, right? Never mind. Is she really doing this for a sunrise?
I groan. "Who cares if their retreat was good. We don't even get one." Juls pouts and I automatically stand up. "Sorry." I mutter. I don't like making Juls upset. I never did. I always tried my absolute best to keep Juls happy. To keep a smile on her face.
Like that one time when we were swimming in the pool and Liam had walked up to us with the strawberry milkshakes and only gave one to me. I saw Juls's disappointed face and I instantly felt guilty. Even though I didn't do anything, I still felt guilty. I didn't like the sad look on her.
I don't think I ever will.
Of course I never will, she's my best friend, like a sister!
Juls is still looking at me with pleading eyes and a pout. I sigh. Will I ever win a fight against her? That is a question yet to be answered. "Where do we watch this sunrise thingy or whatever." Juls squeals before opening her arms to wrap them around me, but takes a double take and stops. A look of disappointment and what I can assume to be sadness flashes across her face. But it's gone before it can linger for long.
.
We arrive at the coast, we didn't get to go near the shore, but we found some type of rock wall thing that has a pretty good view. We get out some snacks we packed, making sure that Juls's favorite drinks and chips are in good condition still. I will always love making her happy.
She climbed the wall and sat, her feet dangling above some palm trees and the crystal sand. She whips her head around from left to right, causing her hair to swish with the movement.
Did her hair always look so majestic? Silky, smooth, soft to touch...
What am I thinking.
I shouldn't have thought about that. I have known her my whole life.
And cancelled these thoughts my whole life.
What is happening to me. And why now? Why now when I have a girlfriend that clings to me whenever she sees me, when her brother is already being suspicious, and when even my own brother is suspicious. It will never happen. I need to keep that in my head.
"Isiah?" Juls's voice cracks like fireworks through out the silence.
I shake my head to bring myself back to reality. Back to the truth that Juls is my friend. Nothing more. I give Juls a smile. Giving Juls a smile was easy. It was natural. "I'm fine, it's just that it's you know. Very early." I narrow my eyes at her on the last part. She laughs. I love her laugh. To me, it's a bit faint, considering it's half air and half sound. It makes her sound so... ethereal. Like a goddess. A goddess that deserved loyal followers.
I would be one of those loyal followers. Always.
"Pass me the cheese chips please!" she requests and as I grab the chips, I know to reach for the juice too before giving it to her. She grins before opening the chips and takes a handful. I shake my head as I laugh at her stuffing her mouth with food. She loved food. And I loved buying food for her.
We sit in silence for a bit. I let myself take glances at her. Her side view was gorgeous. She was gorgeous in any view, actually.
"Look! It's rising!" Juls squeals and points at the orange beacon of light that is the sun, shining at us with a gorgeous hue. The sunlight shines over Juls's face, making her onyx eyes glitter with amber specks, her smile radiant.
My phone rings. I respond with no hesitation. Lia's voice rings out through the phone and Juls looks at me with confusion, with a mix of disappointment.
"Let's go out today!" Lia laughs.
"I'm a bit busy..." I say.
Lia groans. "You aren't hanging out with Fay are you?" her distaste for Juls is obvious when she practically spits her name out. I glance at Juls.
I don't know who might kill me first.
(A) Liam
(B) Reyna
(C) Alexis
(D) Kilian
(E) My own brother.
