season two | episode seventeen                                        alex does good

Jo stood at his locker, staring at his reflection when he saw Dylan approaching him, "What? Were you sponsored by Diesel or something?" He asks, turning and taking her little bag before opening it to look for some gum.

"Were you sponsored by John Mulaney cause you're a joke," Dylan gives her friend a smile as she takes her school bag off, starting to put it in her locker as she takes out all the books she'll need for the first three periods.

"Oh, someone's in a nasty mood," Jo slams his locker shut, leaning against it as Dylan rolls her eyes, "Did your date with Alex not go as well as you'd hoped?" Jo gives her a teasing pout as the girl gives him a death stare in return.

"Yeah, did you not get your third date kiss?" Dylan almost jumps when Sydney appears from behind Jo, "No," Dylan rests her hand on her chest, trying not to act startled.

Last night was supposed to be Dylan and Alex's third date which was the date that most teens usually kissed by the end of the night but that never happened, "I had to stay home last night because my mum had an emergency at the hospital, my papa had a meeting with The Order and my dad's on a business trip so I had to spend all night watching Cocomelon with Harry," Dylan starts slowly rubbing her forehead as if the sounds from the previous night could ever leave her brain, why couldn't he just watch Jake and The Neverland Pirates like she did when she was little?

"How did Russo take it?" Sydney plays with her belt, her dirty blonde hair in two small pigtails, making her look more innocent than usual. "She said it was fine," Dylan's eyes were already scanning her surroundings to find the other girl.

"I mean," Sydney reaches a hand out to grab a hold of Dylan's jaw to make the girl face her, "In what tone did she say it?" She raises a brow and Jo lets out a chuckle from behind the blonde.

"She obviously texted her," He smirks to himself, shaking his head as he stares at his best friend who looks confused by his tone of voice.

Sydney shakes her head at the idea, "She's not that stupid," And then she pauses when Dylan doesn't agree with her, "Did you cancel your date over text?" Dylan didn't answer the question but that clueless look she has on her face told them all they needed to know.

"This is what happens when you're raised by two men," Sydney shakes her head, pulling away from her friend who's still confused about everything.

"What? What's wrong with that?" Dylan asks, taking a piece of gum out of her bag before putting that in her locker too.

Jo sighs at the fact that she even has to ask, "I'm a straight, white guy and I know what you did wrong," He laughs to himself, gaining a jab in the ribs from Sydney.

"You don't cancel plans with a girl over text, Dylan Marlene Potter-Evans," Sydney slaps her friend's arm who groans at the hit and the fact that her full name is being used, "Ow! I doubt Alex cares about that," She pouts to herself, rubbing her arm as the first bell of the day rings.

"Whatever you say," Jo's voice is song-like as Dylan rolls her eyes and leaves for her first class of the day. They didn't know Alex like she did, if she said she wasn't upset about the cancelled date, then she wasn't upset, right?
