Young life is innocent and beautiful
Full of smiles and laughter
Love and care engulfed us all
But when you have opened your eyes
Nothing is as it seems
Thrown into the cruel world
Left in the dark to fend for ourselves
Opportunities and chances pass by
Made the wrong decisions and choices
Made the wrong turn somewhere
Born to make the sacred mistakes
Tears shed and lessons of life learned
Regretting, resenting and forgiving ourselves
Cannot help but be terrified of the future
Yet the flow of life never stops by once
Through sweat and tears, success earned
Expectations fulfilled and dreams lost
Realizing life has been too short
Hoping to look back in time someday
And smile again because in the end
What's meant to be has found its way.
