"DEAN, WILL YOU SIT STILL,"

Kit leans forward, smacking Dean's hand as he tosses another magazine back onto the coffee table. He shoots her a petulant glare that she throws right back at him, and Sam sighs, preparing himself for a knockout round of bickering.

Before any of them can say another word, an airy, feminine voice rings out through the house and they all snap their attention towards the woman walking an older, taller man to the front door with a reassuring smile on her face.

"Alright, then, don't you worry about a thing," The woman shakes her head, chuckling casually. "Your wife is crazy about you."

The man opens the door, giving her a brief farewell as he disappears, and she shakes her head, letting out a low whistle as soon as it's shut behind him.

"Poor bastard," She shakes her head, fixing the three of them with an oddly exasperated look. "His woman is cold-bangin' the gardener."

Kit's eyes widened and she makes a shocked noise as Dean chuckles on the couch beside Sam.

"Why didn't you tell him?"

The woman turns back to face them, her brows raised expectantly. "People don't come here for the truth. They come for good news,"

The trio share looks, somewhat surprised at her transparency but not at the answer itself. She certainly wasn't wrong.

"Well? Sam, Dean, come on already. I ain't got all day," She huffs, walking back to the room she'd come out of a moment ago. "And you, too, Miss Kennedy. We got things to talk about."

Kit finds herself rolling with surprise for the third time in quick succession, and she looks at the brothers to find them in a similar state. Following their lead, though, she stands, walking to the back room of the house.

She ducks beneath the beaded doorway, stepping off to stand beside the boys because she disappears when she gets stuck behind them.

"Well, let me look at you," Missouri, Kit can rightfully identify, shakes her head as she takes in the Winchester boys. "Oh, you boys grew up handsome."

She points at Dean, nodding. "And you were one goofy-looking kid, too,"

Kit snorts a laugh, earning a glare from the man.

"Sam," Missouri softens, reaching for Sam's hand. "Oh, honey. I'm sorry about your girlfriend. And your father..."

Sam and Dean seem to hold their breaths at the mention of John, and Kit knows Missouri sees it as easily as she does.
