### Chapter 4: The Study Session
The morning sun streamed through the window of Kaviya's dorm room, casting a warm glow on her desk where she sat buried under a pile of textbooks and notes. Her face was a mix of determination and frustration as she tried to decipher her economics textbook. It had been a week since the semester started, and despite her enthusiasm, she found herself struggling to keep up with the coursework.
"Why does this have to be so complicated?" Kaviya muttered to herself, rubbing her temples. Her concentration was shattered by the loud chatter of her friends outside the room.
"Hey, Kaviya!" Maya called out, popping her head through the door. "Still buried in books, I see. You coming to lunch?"
Kaviya shook her head. "Not today. I've got to finish this chapter and prepare for the upcoming quiz. It's like the textbook is speaking a different language."
Maya sighed dramatically. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you when you're starving by dinner. We're heading to the canteen. Don't let those books eat you alive!"
With a final encouraging smile, Maya left, leaving Kaviya alone once more. Just as she was about to dive back into her studies, her phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and saw a message from Arjun.
**Arjun:** *Hey Kaviya, heard you were struggling with econ. I'm free this afternoon if you want some help. Let me know.*
Kaviya hesitated for a moment before typing back a quick response.
**Kaviya:** *Hi Arjun! That would be amazing. I'm swamped right now. What time works for you?*
**Arjun:** *How about 2 PM in the library? I'll bring some coffee.*
Kaviya smiled at the thought of Arjun bringing coffee. The idea was both charming and practical.
**Kaviya:** *2 PM it is. See you then!*
True to his word, Arjun arrived at the library at exactly 2 PM, a large coffee cup in hand. He spotted Kaviya at a corner table, her face buried in a textbook.
"Hey, Kaviya!" he greeted, walking over with a warm smile. "I brought you some coffee."
Kaviya looked up, her expression brightening at the sight of him. "Oh, Arjun, you're a lifesaver! Thanks for coming."
Arjun set the coffee down on the table and took a seat across from her. "No problem. Let's tackle this economics monster together."
As they started discussing the complexities of supply and demand curves, Arjun's explanations were clear and insightful. Kaviya found herself increasingly impressed by his ability to make difficult concepts seem simple. There was a natural rhythm to their interaction-Arjun's confident demeanor balanced perfectly with Kaviya's eager curiosity.
"So, basically, the elasticity of demand measures how much the quantity demanded changes when there's a change in price," Arjun explained, pointing to a graph in the textbook.
Kaviya leaned in closer to see the graph, her hand accidentally brushing against Arjun's. She felt a jolt of electricity at the contact and looked up to find Arjun's gaze locked on her.
"Sorry," she said, pulling her hand back quickly. "I didn't mean to-"
"It's okay," Arjun interrupted, his voice softer than usual. "No harm done."
There was a brief, awkward silence as they both tried to regain their focus. Kaviya noticed that Arjun seemed a bit more attentive than usual, his eyes lingering on her more than the textbook.
"So, how did you get so good at this?" Kaviya asked, trying to break the tension.
Arjun shrugged, a casual smile on his face. "I guess it's just practice. And a bit of a knack for numbers."
Kaviya smiled, feeling a warm glow inside. "Well, I'm really grateful. I was starting to feel like I'd never understand this stuff."
Arjun's gaze softened. "Don't worry, you're doing great. It just takes a little time to get the hang of it."
As they continued working through the problems, the atmosphere between them grew more relaxed and comfortable. Kaviya found herself laughing at Arjun's jokes and appreciating his patience. The study session turned into an enjoyable experience, filled with laughter and a growing sense of camaraderie.
After a while, Arjun took a sip of his coffee and glanced at Kaviya. "You know, I was thinking..."
Kaviya looked up, intrigued. "What?"
"I've been meaning to ask you," Arjun began, a playful glint in his eyes. "What's your idea of a perfect weekend?"
Kaviya pondered for a moment. "Hmm, probably something relaxing. Maybe a day out exploring the city, trying out new places to eat, and just having fun with friends. What about you?"
Arjun's smile widened. "I'd say a weekend spent with good company and maybe a bit of adventure. Exploring new places sounds great. We should plan something like that sometime."
Kaviya's heart skipped a beat. The idea of spending time with Arjun outside of the library was exciting. "That sounds like a lot of fun. We'll definitely have to make that happen."
Arjun nodded, his eyes meeting hers with a hint of something more than just friendly interest. "It's a plan then."
As the library's closing announcement rang through the speakers, Kaviya and Arjun packed up their things. The study session had ended, but the connection between them felt stronger than ever.
"Thanks again for helping me," Kaviya said, standing up and stretching. "I really appreciate it."
Arjun gathered his things and stood as well. "Anytime, Kaviya. I had a good time too."
They walked out of the library together, the evening air cool and refreshing. As they reached the entrance, Arjun turned to Kaviya with a thoughtful expression.
"You know, I've really enjoyed getting to know you," he said, his tone sincere. "You're not just smart, but you're also fun to be around."
Kaviya felt a rush of warmth at his compliment. "Thank you, Arjun. That means a lot to me."
They exchanged a final smile before parting ways, Kaviya's heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation. As she walked back to her dorm, she couldn't help but replay their conversation in her mind, savoring the moments of connection and the subtle hints of romance.
The study session had been more than just an academic exercise-it had been a glimpse into something new and promising. Kaviya looked forward to what the future might hold, feeling more hopeful and intrigued than ever before.
