I was stunned to say the least. I expected him to ask me for a pencil or at least have the decency to start a conversation, but no. He waved his hand in my face and my brows furrowed "Tu parles anglaise?" What?! "Excuse me?!" I was clearly offended, and he was surprised. He started laughing and his laughter filled the room, the sweet sound of it filling my ears.
I found myself smiling a bit, I quickly frowned and crossed my arms. He got a few glances and surprised gasps. I don't get it, is this guy popular or something? Once he FINALLY stopped laughing he caught me glaring at him. "Whoops, must've gotten carried away there." He chuckled sheepishly. "I don't like guys like you." He looked a bit taken aback, then he smiled.
"Oh really? Even if I'm this handsome?" I rolled my eyes. Was I starting to make enemies here already? I knew we shouldn't have moved here. "No, you're not." Liar. You were admiring him just a few minutes ago. The bell rang and the Blondie extended his arm, "I'm Leo, your favourite, most amazing classmate. I can tell we're going to be best friends, well, other than my best-best friend Hades. But you're welcome to our group, Mira" he gave me a toothy smile.
He looked goofy and cute, kind of. I was surprised he was opening up to me so quickly, but I nodded either way. "Uhm, okay. Thanks Leo. I can tell you're going to love me." I confidently pointed at myself, expecting him to groan or roll his eyes or something. But actually, he started laughing again, so hard that tears started forming in his eyes. He looked so.. full of life, when he laughed. I like it.
I shook my head and blushed. Just then, the atmosphere got tense and all of a sudden, Leo stopped laughing. His face turned into a serious expression, and I turned around to see Genevieve standing behind me. Again. I smiled at her. "Hey there, Genevieve." She blinked. "Come on, let's go." I stood up quickly and walked after her. "What were you doing with Leo?" She asked, breaking the silence. It always felt uncomfortable around her, like she was something tense.
"Oh, him? He offered to be my friend." I responded, regretting telling her that information. "Don't, his best friend, Hades, has a dangerous aura. He can harm you, and I think he's targeting soft girls like you." I was a bit confused and surprised, but I quickly regained my confidence. "Hah! Me? Soft? No way! I'm the brightest, strongest, prettiest girl you'll ever meet!"
She shook her head. "I can tell." She mumbled. We stayed silent until I found myself in the art class. I almost forgot we were in school. I thanked her and entered the classroom. The teacher was a short female with large-squared glasses. She wore a green scarf and a dress with a variety of shapes overlapping each other. She looked small, and frail. Like she couldn't hurt a fly. Her hair was a wavy pixie cut and she had emerald green eyes.
"Welcome daring! Ouah, tu es si belle!" I couldn't understand what she said in the last part, but I found myself blushing. "Thank you," I sat down next to a redhead girl. The teacher started teaching the concepts of art and I took down notes. "Psst.." whispered a voice. No, it was below a whisper. I turned to the side to see the redhead girl.
"I'm Yasmine, what's your name? Oh, you're the newbie! Nice to meet ya! Welcome to Redcrest High!" She had a grin plastered on the face, smiling from ear to ear. I gave her a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you, Yasmine. I'm Mira and thanks." She gasped, her eyes lightening. "Oh my gosh! You're so pretty!" She looked at me with awe.
I blushed "thank you." She smiled, again. "I think we're going to be the best, best, BEST friends ever!" She squealed in excitement. I could tell she was a bubbly, outgoing person. She looked fun to be around. "You should come over to my house after school, we can hang out! My parents aren't home, so we can grab all the snacks we want! What's your favourite candy? Mine is Reese's cups!" I was excited to hang out with her after school. "My favourite candy is.." I thought for a second. I was never really interested enough to try any American candy. "Nerds clusters."
She smiled "that's ONE of my favourites too! Omg, we're like, made for each other!" I chuckled, "Yeah, sure we are.."

I was starving by the time of 3rd period. This was the period before lunch, and I didn't think I could wait that long. I obviously was NOT going to use the canteen. I'd rather pack my own lunch. Genevieve was walking me to class and as usual, we walked in silence. This day felt long, like I had been here forever! I just want school to end, but I'm making so much friends. Genevieve cleared her voice and stopped walking. "Mira?" Her voice broke the silence between us, and I'm glad because it felt awkward.
"Uhm, yeah?" I responded. "Watch out for who you hang out with, people at this school do not take a liking to new students." She said. I didn't know if she genuinely was looking out for me, or if she wanted to show off how "cool" and "dangerous" her school is. I nodded, "I will," we continued walking and she had an unreadable expression on her face. I wondered what she was thinking of, because she looked deep in thought.
