Chapter 14 - Miami

Annabeth POV

Exenor's Eyes glowed for a bit through the hood, then he spoke "I scanned the entire camp, and I have found the side with the least amount of monsters, we must attack from the south, the swamp is deep in that area and we can keep ourselves underwater until we are close by. For now let's go around."

We agree and keep to the tree cover as we head to the south side of the camp. The Chaos Commanders take the lead as we sneak through the foliage, knee deep in swamp water. Yuck!

We reach the camp, "We need to sneak in the shadows, take out any monster who is in your way as stealthily as possible. Is that clear" Exenor spoke softly. The Soldiers and the commanders nodded. Exenor turned to us. "Any objections? If there are any then stay here. I can't babysit and fight" he said. We all nodded too. As Much as I want to question this tactic, we are too close to the enemy and such argument could give away our position. We then approach the camp, the Soldiers fan out including the commanders, Thalia and Alpha stick close to me. We sneak behind some tents and turn a corner to see 2 empousa, luckily their back was turned to us, alpha disposes them with lightning speed and we continue our stealth invasion of the camp as we close in on the fortress.

Exenor POV

Something is wrong. We take out monsters but the I feel the monsters moving away from this part of the camp. Comparing to the number of tents and structures the number of monsters patrolling this area is less. It is as if.. they want us to move further inside the camp with little resistance. But there is no way they would know our presence unless... Oh no it's a trap, I can't believe I didn't see this coming. I mind message the other commanders. "Order stealth retreat!" I say. "What? Why we are cruising here!" Aliron replies. "Just do as I say! It's a trap!" I say. "I don't understand, everything is going smoothly" Replies Theta. "No, I felt that too, something is wrong there are far too less monsters here and the majority is falling back to give us way." Huntress says. "Fall back beyond the camp border, now!" I commanded. "Copy that, meet you on the camp border." The Chaos soldiers begin to fall back, I cover the retreat, but I guess it was too late as I felt some presences nearby which are too powerful to be monsters. Oh shit this is bad. I try to increase my pace, and we file into a large pathway between tents and come face to face with Aliron's squad. "Exenor, I got a mind message from Zeta's team, they are being attacked by monsters. It's a trap." Damn I was too focused on the retreat and the powerful presences that I didn't detect the monsters are now converging on our location. "I sensed powerful presences I hope its not Nyx, we need to leave NOW!" I ordered, but we were cut off by the voice. "Leaving so soon? Why don't you stay at least for tea" 

I turn around to see Prometheus, flanked by Hyperion and Atlas. Just Great. We should be able to defeat the trio but if Nyx shows up and considering the huge amount of monsters here, we are in a bad position. I receive a mind message from Louis "our escape paths are cut off by hordes of monsters, what should we do?". It seems we fell into a trap. "All squads, fall back to my position, we can regroup here" Everyone acknowledges. "They knew we are coming here, Exenor" Aliron said. "Yes, someone at camp half hell sold us out, not surprising but unexpected" I reply. The rest of the commanders and the chaos army arrive at my position and at my command we form a circular shield wall. The Demigods being inside the circle. (Being weak and all. I don't wanna deal with their crappy parents right now.)

"Well isn't it the chaos army, we've been expecting you" Prometheus said. That confirms my suspicions. "You knew of our strategies?" Alpha asked. "Of course! Did you really think you and your lot were secretive? Oh please, your camp is not even united, we have successfully infiltrated your camp" Hyperion gloated. I looked at Annabeth and Thalia who looked shocked and angry at the same time. "You are weak Exenor" Prometheus called out. "You thought it was your mere presence it took to protect the camp! But look at you know, the very people who you were supposed to protect sold you out. I am pretty sure that daughters of Athena and Zeus are feeling very proud hiding behind your men" He continued. "The campers will never betray for the likes of you, not after the first titan war!" Thalia countered.

"Oh you would be surprised to see how the people closest to you are the ones who you should be vary of the most, in this case it is your beloved brother!" Prometheus finished. It was at that moment I realized, Julian was not with Annabeth and Thalia. I had my answer. Julian emerged from a tent near the titans grinning like a mad man. The look on Annabeth and thalia's faces were priceless. "So it is you huh? Can't say I am surprised, but I admit while I am not surprised to see you turn your back on the camp I didn't expect you to join the titans, you have once again exceeded my expectations of you could be more of a moron than I though you would" I reply. Julian glared at me. "How could you do this Julian? You would turn against your siblings?" Thalia roared.

"Turn against you? You turned against me! Ever since HE arrived with his chaos army" Julian continued pointing at me, talk about being an attention seeker. "you didn't give me respect I deserve as the leader of the camp! So I decided to switch teams just so I can see you burn." Julian then laughed maniacally. "Oh well, neither the camp nor the chaos army is gonna miss you." I replied. "Maybe, but they are gonna miss you, Attack!" Julian yelled. I saw Prometheus glare at Julian, I guess he doesn't like getting ordered around.

"Today, we destroy the Chaos Army! Without you and your annoying commanders, Olympus will fall before our might! My henchmen! attack!!" The Monsters began closing in on us. Well we will have to fight our way out of this one. I turn to the Chaos Soldiers forming the shield circle. "Whatever happens, hold the circle, for your own protection and to protect the demigods." I'd love to say I don't give a shit about the Athena spawn and Thalia, well I actually couldn't care less about Annabitch, but Thalia is not responsible for what happened at Camp, she wasn't there when all of this happened, even though she never tried to defend me or find what's going on. I don't want her to die (yes I did say the demigods aren't my responsibility) damn the ADHD. "Yes General!" The soldiers replied in unison. I turned to the commanders who are awaiting my orders. "The chaos army will hold off the monster armies, we will take on the titans. If we can finish them off, we will only have giants to worry about. if things doesn't go as planned lets create a portal and evacuate" The commanders nod. I turn towards the titans to see ranks of monsters Infront of them. I simply launch a continuous volley of fire burning down and wiping out all the monsters in the front lines leaving the titans, and that brat Julian exposed. "Now" I command and we all charge, weapons drawn at full speed towards the titans who surprised quickly draw their weapons to defend themselves while Julian ran way further into the camp.
