Sorry for not posting yesterday, I suddenly had a ton of tests (I managed to keep a 17 average, so it's okay).

Charlie looked at Lucifer, confused. "Umm, okay." Her friend was acting strangely during French class.

She decided to talk to Vaggie discreetly. "Hey, Vaggie." The brunette turned around. "Yes, Charlie?"

"Don't you think Luci's acting weird? He seems out of it." She pointed to the blond who was scribbling in his notebook.

She nodded. "Um, yeah, it's odd."

The bell rang, signaling the end of class, though not for Lucifer, who had detention.

He and his friends agreed to meet in the dorms at 7 p.m. to chat about the latest rumors, as they did every day.

The student headed to the detention room, casting a cold glance at Vox. He went to the back of the class, sat down, rested his legs on the desk, and rocked his chair.

Vox also sat down, at the opposite end from his enemy, staring at his phone.

The silence was broken by the arrival of a teacher. When the two students saw who entered, they both sat up straight like a cotton swab.

Alastor closed the door behind him. "You've got detention in the first week? And from the same teacher, no less." He approached them with a smirk. "Then again, you're not wrong; Azrael should brush his teeth."

The three laughed briefly, and the detention hour was strangely cheerful. This teacher was special; he could inspire both respect and good humor in Lucifer.

When detention ended, the blond turned to Alastor. "Thanks, Mr. Hartfelt." Then he calmly left the classroom.

The door reopened, catching the brunette's attention. "Oh, did you forget something, Lucif—"

It wasn't Lucifer, but the principal, Adam. He had brown hair and eyes, with dark circles hinting at his sleepless nights working, and his style of dress reflected his love for rock music.

"Well, Alastor, how was the first day of classes?" Adam approached him with a smug smile.

Mr. Hartfelt sighed, irritated. "You know I hate this job, you jerk." His usual smile faded, replaced by a murderous expression.

The principal laughed. "Still so blunt, Alastor! Don't forget, you have to act like you enjoy this job in front of the students. Otherwise, your little secret might get out."

He got closer, wearing a mischievous grin. "It would be a shame to spend your life in prison just because you couldn't control your temper, right?"

Mr. Hartfelt couldn't deny that Adam had a point. His secret could cost him his freedom, and that was something he absolutely couldn't allow.

He sighed, admitting defeat. "Fine, I'll keep smiling in front of the students. But don't expect me to keep that smile for you."

"Perfect." With those words, Adam left the classroom, leaving the teacher alone.

Now alone in the room, he muttered to himself, "All this for one murder..."

Back at the dorms, the whole group pounced on Lucifer. "Hey, hey, calm down, guys!"

Angel replied sharply, "That's for ditching us and going to detention!" Vaggie and Charlie grabbed the blond and threw him onto the couch. "Now you're forced to play with us!"

Morningstar had never liked playing his roommates' games, but he owed them this one. "Okay, okay."

Lilith started explaining the rules. "It's simple: we draw a card that defines a personality, and we have to match it to someone in the group." She looked at the gang. "Everyone got it?" They all nodded.

Charlie went first. "Umm, I got 'protective,' 'generous,' and 'calm.'" She smiled at her girlfriend. "I think that's Vaggie!"

Vaggie blushed slightly.

Angel Dust picked up another card. "Well, let's see what we've got—'angry,' 'scatterbrained,' and 'impulsive!'" He laughed. "That's clearly our old Lucifer!"

The student looked shocked. "Why do I only get negative traits?!"

Lilith stepped in. "Calm down, honey, your personality is perfect as it is." She gave him a light kiss on the lips.

The blond calmed down, and a hint of red appeared on his cheeks.

The game continued for several minutes until nightfall.

Charlie exclaimed, "Time to do our homework for tomorrow!" Lucifer was already heading toward his room, as he had no intention of studying with the group.

Angel Dust pulled out his last card to stop Lucifer. "We've got French homework~" The blond immediately turned around. "Um, after thinking it over, I guess I'll study with you!"

Lilith was surprised to see her boyfriend suddenly want to stay with them to study, something he'd never done before. "Umm, okay... We have to learn how to introduce ourselves in French for tomorrow."

They spent the rest of the evening studying, with short breaks every half hour. Charlie brought the good vibes, Vaggie and Lilith the seriousness, Angel the excitement, and Lucifer was oddly determined.

Had he ever been this invested in a subject before?
