Cash POV

Today was the day. I'd been waiting, watching, taking note of her mental status and how she'd been with me. She was slowly getting herself together, bit by bit. It was my extreme pleasure to wait and watch as she did. She looked magnificent the more she built herself back up. I was going to ask Devin to officially be my girlfriend. It was a beautiful August evening, and I knew the little Italian restaurant where I'd booked their best table on the patio would be perfect. We'd been seeing each other for six months and I wanted her to be completely comfortable with me before I made things official. Give her time to heal.

I was there, taking her out to try new things and find things she enjoyed. I also took her to places I enjoyed. I showed her all the little hidden gems I'd found over the years. All the hole in the wall restaurants and bars. Over the summer, since she worked remotely, and I could sweet talk the boss into letting me have time off, I took her on several vacations. And her? In a bathing suit? While we're trying to build a friendship and sticking to 'seeing each other' but unofficially?

I damn near died. Every. Fucking. Time. Those itsy bitsy, tiny winy bikinis.

Fuck.

I picked her up and I swear this woman stole my breath like she does every time I see her. I went semi-casual with a pair of skinny trousers, a button-down T-shirt, and loafers. I think I looked good, but nowhere near as good as she did. I wanted to take her back inside and show her all the ways I thought she was too good for me. I wanted to show her all the ways I'd worship her. I knew she wasn't ready to go past our incredibly hot make-outs that force me into an ice bath every fucking time.

She was worth all the blue balls though.

I opened the door for her and held my hand out to help her into the car, earning me a smile. God, I loved her smile. Really though, it was her eyes when she smiled at me. It was like all the love she held inside shined out from her smile, and her eyes were pools of love that I could dive in and swim in forever. I smiled back at her as I closed the door and rounded the car. That little evening dress she was wearing was killing me. I readjusted myself in my pants to try to hide the erection that was growing the more time I spent in her presence.

I knew I wouldn't last long with the way her legs looked in those black pointy heels and the way her dress hugged her body. It was a black dress with a high neckline, but it hugged every curve of her figure down to her knees with a slit in the back. She'd taken her hair and pinned it up on top of her head in, what she called, the modern beehive. Whatever she did to it looked amazing and showed off her slender neck that I wanted to bury my face in and kiss.

My showers weren't cold enough if I was this close to making a mess in my pants just at the way she looked in the dress she'd picked out. I was going to be in serious trouble long before dessert.

Pulling up to the restaurant, I stepped out immediately before he could open her door and have the pleasure of seeing those stunning, shapely legs coming out of the car. That was my view and mine alone. No one else would ever see it if I had anything to do or say about it. I handed him the keys and quickly opened her door. She smiled at me, took my hand, and leaned in for a kiss on the cheek.

"Getting jealous, are we Johnny?"

"Always," I growled back, "You're mine. Only I get to see those legs like that."

Devin POV

He was possessive tonight, but that was to be expected. Eddie helped me pick out a new outfit because Cash had told me tonight our date was special, and I had butterflies. We'd only been seeing each other for a few months, I knew we were getting close to the six-month mark I put on us, but my god the man was amazing. He never missed a chance to show me how much he cared for me, thought of me, and wanted me. Like when I got out of the car, the valet almost opened my door. My Johnny had rushed over to open the door and hold his hand out for me. He truly treated me like his Queen.

He took great pleasure in doing things for me. He made me feel...alive. I'd never felt so alive when I was with him. It was like every single nerve ending was on fire when he touched me. I was hopeful that tonight would be the night we took things further than making out. I was quickly killing BOB. My poor little battery-operated buddy was dying fast with the way I couldn't stop touching myself after one of our heated make-out sessions.

The last time was one lazy Saturday afternoon on his couch, after a movie we'd just watched. He looked at me and kissed me, pulling me onto his lap. We were making out, our tongues dancing in sync with each other, yet fighting for dominance. He slipped his hands under my shirt and brushed across my stomach and hips, making his way to my back, and pulling me closer to him. Just as those big, strong hands slipped under my shirt, making their way up my back, his front door opened to reveal Calen and Viviene. Viviene shrieked and covered Calen's eyes. We broke apart quickly.

I pulled my shirt down and he readjusted himself before going and pulling Viviene outside the door to talk with her. Calen looked embarrassed, as we heard Cash telling Viviene that Calen had a key for after school if she wasn't able to get him, he could go to his apartment. It wasn't meant for 'let yourselves in whenever'.

Cash came back in, alone. He offered to take Calen to the park or videogames or whatever.

"I actually need help with my homework. Would that be, okay?" The poor shy boy had asked. I nodded my head and went to leave.

"Please," Cash started, looking like he was way more disappointed that I was leaving than he was about doing high school homework again.

"I'm going to whip up some snacks to bring back over for you guys," I smiled at them and headed for my apartment. Viviene gave me a death glare at the elevator before stepping in. I rolled my eyes and went into my apartment. In the whole six months that he'd been courting me and we'd been building our friendship, he'd been denying her advances. He'd even talked to me about it, promising that he'd ask for another little brother if I would feel more comfortable with it.

I didn't want to ruin the bond the two of them had.

"Cash, party of two," his voice pulled me out of the memory. He smiled down at me, and I smiled back as the hostess led us through the restaurant and showed us to our little table for two out on the beautiful patio connected to the side. It was a beautiful clear night, a little chilly, but there were heaters out, and the lights they had hung above the seating set a very romantic atmosphere. Cash ordered us a bottle of Reisling, and I placed an order for an appetizer to share.

This was going to be the longest dinner of my whole goddamn life. We made small talk. About the weather, how work was going. He let me know that he'd seen Eddie at work a few days ago as he was leaving Clint's office after lunch. He said with the way his hair was messed up and his shirt was misbuttoned, it looked like they were having a grand ole time.

I was hopeful his mind was as far in the gutter as mine was tonight.

Tonight would be different. I was prepared tonight. Eddie had set up battery-operated candles all over my apartment, put fucking flower petals on the floor leading to my bedroom, the whole nine yards, the whole shebang. I was ready. I wanted him. In every way. Tonight...one way or another, I was getting us out of these clothes, and I'd be fucking my boyfriend.

Tonight.
