Chapter 13: He Hath Filled the Hungry with Good Things (Luke 1:53)

The phrase "He hath filled the hungry with good things" emphasizes God's provision for His people, particularly in times of dire need. In the context of the Great Tribulation, this promise takes on a profound significance for those who refuse to take the Mark of the Beast, facing severe economic hardships as a result. While the world succumbs to the allure of the Antichrist and his system of control, the faithful remnant—the Little Flock—will find divine sustenance in ways that surpass human understanding and provision.

In Revelation 13:17, it is made abundantly clear: "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." This stark warning highlights the desperate situation faced by those who refuse the mark. The inability to engage in commerce will leave many hungry and in need, yet God's ways of provision stand in stark contrast to worldly systems. It is through faithfulness, not compromise, that believers will experience God's miraculous provisions during these dark times.

The Lord has not abandoned His faithful. As those believers heed the warning of Matthew 24:15-17—"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains"—we see a directive for the Little Flock to escape to safety. They are hidden in the wilderness, away from the oppressive regime of the Antichrist, and for them, God promises sustenance.

In the wilderness, the faithful will experience a sustenance reminiscent of the Israelites' Exodus from Egypt. Just as God provided manna from heaven to the hungry Israelites, so too will He supply food for His people in the Tribulation. Revelation 2:17 proclaims, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna." This hidden manna is the sustenance that God will graciously provide to His faithful remnant. Unlike the transient and unreliable offerings of the world, this manna will nourish their spirits and bodies, signifying a unique provision directly from the hand of God.

The significance of hidden manna also speaks to the intimate relationship between God and His followers. The Little Flock, while navigating through the depths of deprivation, will find their hunger for both physical and spiritual nourishment met in ways that the world cannot provide. John 6:31-32 highlights this divine connection: "Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven." The true bread signifies the life and sustenance that God provides—transcendent and eternal.

The wilderness also serves as a place of refuge, fulfillment, and closeness to God. As the faithful flee to safety, they embody the promise of Psalms 37:25: "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." This verse reassures believers that God's commitment to His people is unwavering. Even in the most challenging circumstances resembling famine, divine provision will ensure that the righteous will not be left without sustenance.

The faithful who resist the allure of the Antichrist and endure hardships will experience God's miraculous provision. Whether it be through hidden manna or divine sustenance, the promise of God assures them that they will not be forsaken in their time of need. Mary is clearly a student of the scriptures and is aware of all of this as she continues to praise God for the things he has done, and the things he will do for his people Israel in the end times.
