Christmas Day arrived at Hogwarts with a magical atmosphere. The castle was festooned with festive decorations, and the Great Hall was alive with the warmth of the holiday spirit. Students gathered for a sumptuous breakfast, exchanging cheerful greetings and sharing stories of their Christmas morning.

Lexi and Enzo sat at the Slytherin table, both in high spirits after their day out in Hogsmeade. The holiday cheer was a welcome change from the usual tension and stress.

As they enjoyed their breakfast, Lexi noticed that a small, intricately wrapped gift had appeared on her plate. The wrapping paper was silver and gold, with a delicate ribbon tied in a perfect bow. Lexi looked around, puzzled, but there was no note or indication of who the gift might be from.

Enzo raised an eyebrow as he noticed the gift. "Looks like you've got a present. Any idea who it's from?"

Lexi shook her head, carefully unwrapping the package. As she removed the paper, she revealed a beautifully crafted locket, shimmering with a subtle, elegant design. The locket was clearly expensive, its craftsmanship exquisite. Lexi's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wow, that's stunning," Enzo said, leaning closer to get a better look. "But who could it be from?"

Before Lexi could respond, Mattheo sauntered over to their table, a smirk playing on his lips. He had a tray of food in one hand, and he was dressed in his usual dark, stylish attire.

"Nice locket," Mattheo said loudly enough for those around them to hear. "Must be from a secret admirer."

Lexi glared at him. "What do you want, Mattheo?"

Mattheo leaned against the table, his smirk widening. "Just making an observation. You've got a very expensive gift. Anyone I know?"

Lexi tried to keep her composure, though she could feel her frustration rising. "It's none of your business."

Mattheo chuckled, clearly enjoying the reaction he was getting. "Right, right. Just curious. Could be anyone, I suppose. Or maybe you've got someone fancy in mind."

Lexi's face flushed with irritation, but she forced herself to stay calm. "It's probably just a mistake. I don't have any 'secret admirers.'"

Mattheo raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Sure, sure. Whatever you say."

With that, Mattheo turned and walked away, leaving Lexi feeling a mix of annoyance and confusion. Enzo watched Mattheo leave, shaking his head.

"Did he have to make it so awkward?" Enzo said, his tone sympathetic. "You know how he is—always trying to get a rise out of people."

Lexi sighed, trying to ignore the sting of Mattheo's comments. "I know. But the gift is nice, even if it's a mystery."

As they finished their breakfast, Lexi couldn't help but glance at the locket, still puzzled by its origin. She slipped it into her bag, deciding to think about it later. For now, she wanted to enjoy the rest of Christmas Day without letting Mattheo's taunts ruin her mood.

After breakfast, the students dispersed to enjoy their holiday. Lexi and Enzo decided to take a walk around the castle grounds, enjoying the wintry landscape and the peaceful ambiance.

As they strolled through the snow-covered grounds, Lexi and Enzo chatted about their plans for the rest of the holiday. Despite the morning's disturbance, Lexi found herself feeling more relaxed and content in Enzo's company.

Later in the afternoon, as they returned to the common room, Lexi found herself alone with her thoughts. She took out the locket again, examining it closely. The intricate design and the quality of the piece suggested that it was not just a random gift.

She tried to recall if anyone had mentioned anything about a gift for her, but no one had. The mystery of the locket lingered, and Lexi couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the gift than met the eye.

As the evening drew to a close, Lexi sat by the fire in the common room, lost in thought. The locket glinted softly in the firelight, and she wondered about its significance. Mattheo's mocking tone echoed in her mind, adding to her confusion.

Despite the uncertainty, Lexi resolved to enjoy the rest of the holiday. The locket remained a mystery, but for now, she focused on the warmth and comfort of the season and the companionship of her friends.
