I tried. I really did.
I tried to focus watching the movie assigned by our professor. For his first meeting, Professor Sunlabs, my Econ 101 teacher, made the class watch a documentary about money. I did my best to be interested and enthusiastic but honestly, really, WHO CARES ABOUT THE EVOLUTION OF MONEY??!! Apparently everyone in the class thinks the same way especially the red chicka in front who is unabashedly snoring a minute after Professor Sunlabs left the room saying "I'll be back by the end of the class". pffft
I can hear some commotions outside, maybe the Freshie's Meet is about to start. Honestly, I never considered joining an organization. I'm not a very group or crowd-friendly type of person and If I join a club, I'd be forced to interact with a lot of people, smile, greet them and hang out with them. Urgghhh! I shuddered at the thought. I always stick with 2-3 friends everywhere I go. I can handle 4, maybe, but 5 is sort of pushing it.
I stopped myself from thinking more and focused on the movie. As minutes passed by, I was unconsciously listening to the noise outside rather than the stats given by the narrator. There was shouting and cheering. The noise sort of excited me.
The bell rang but the professor was not around yet. Everyone left though. I hurried out of class and went straight to the cafeteria. Max and the others were already there. We went to the open grounds where the organization booths were at.
"Here we are, kids! Feel free to roam around but remember ALPHA ANIMA ma-men!", Max said. I just noticed he changed into his organization shirt when he pointed to himself while saying 'ALPHA ANIME ma-men'.
"Yes yes Papa bear. C'mon girls", Anna said while pulling Candice and I. Max went off, maybe towards Alpha Anima.
We started with the academic organizations, the geeky literary club looked cute, the SciTech was awesome but we know we don't have what it takes to join them, the Debate club looked promising so we stayed there for a couple more minutes and got oriented. We stayed away from the Math Society, their members were too intimidating, they looked uber smart.
Next, we visited the Enthusiasts for anime, music and art. Candice stayed for a while in the ARTrysts, while Anna's attention was caught by the Student Leaders' Association. I left Anna while she was briefed of the projects the Student Leaders' Association wanted to implement. They were in their respective circles, they found an organization where they fit. While I'm here, alone, in a noisy crowd full of people, and yet------
"Jenna!"
My thinking was cut off when I heard someone call my name.
